Games not played due to Covid issues

If a game is cancelled due to Covid issues, it will be null and void, and will not appear in league tables. In divisions affected, final positions in the table will be based on each team’s average points per match (now shown in the tables on the main website and Play-Cricket).
Divisions so far affected are the Championship and Divisions 3, 4, 5 and 7 (Division 2 will also be affected from this weekend).
Games cancelled this weekend due to Covid are:

Div 2: Frecheville Community v Thorpe Hesley & High Green
Div 8: Whiston Forge v Eden Grove Parklands

For more information, please see the League’s Covid Contingency Rules.

Hall of Fame. The League Hall of Fame was originally aimed at people who had given long and outstanding service to clubs in the YSPL. We now want to extend this to reflect the whole of the YCSPL. We intend to induct up to six further worthy candidates at our end-of-season function this November, and would like to include nominations from Senior Section clubs. If you would like to nominate someone, please email Graham Swallow with details of your nominee, and a brief summary of their achievements. In order that nominations can be properly considered, and further enquiries made as necessary, nominations will close at the end of August.

Umpires not appointed by the SYUA. Clubs in the Senior Section who have not had an umpire appointed for a particular game must ensure that if they ask someone to umpire for them on the day of the match, that club officials know the person concerned and are satisfied that they are a suitable person to perform the role. If there is a likelihood that the person will be used again in the future, a DBS check should be arranged.

Yorkshire Grassroot Cricket Volunteer Awards and ECB Coach Awards 2021. We are delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the newly branded Grassroot cricket awards. Together with ECB these awards have been put together to help recognise and reward all the fantastic volunteers that work tirelessly within our Clubs, Leagues, and cricketing communities.
The roles in which our volunteers take can cover a multitude of positions that are required to enable cricket to flourish and grow. Not all cricket is about what happens on the field but what happens off it also. You may know people who have gone above and beyond or have worked under the radar. These could be pioneers, inspirers and innovators who made a huge impact to the game. We have a number of categories with full details of the criteria listed here
You can nominate through this link which also gives you the option of receiving information from YCCC.
The deadline day for nominations is Friday 6th August. If you have any questions about the awards please feel free to contact:
