2024 provisional league fixtures
The provisional 2024 league fixtures have now been published on the League website. Please note that clubs with teams in divisions three and below have until 31 December to agree any rearrangements necessary due to ground unavailability.
2024 cup draws
The draws for the K3 Dental and Whitworth Cups, and the T20 Blast and Plate, will be conducted at 7pm on Tuesday 19 December at Barnsley Woolley Miners CC, Shaw Lane, Barnsley. Anyone who would like to come along on the night, help draw teams out of the bag, and in general oversee fair play, is very welcome to attend.
Graham Swallow and David Ward have conducted the 2024 draws for the Mick Savage, Presidents and Billy Oates cup competitions and these are now published on the League website.
Annual General Meeting notes
Code of Sports Governance
ECB have introduced a requirement for Premier Leagues to sign up to adherence to the Tier 1 requirements of the Sport England Code of Sports Governance as a condition of receiving ECB funding. One of the main Tier 1 requirements is that members of the League Executive or decision-making body should serve for a maximum nine-year term. The LEB has formally agreed to sign up to the Code, and will consider what constitutional amendments will be necessary to ensure compliance with the nine-year rule, and put proposals to the next AGM.
Safeguarding courses
A number of new safeguarding courses are available for people to book online, including in South Yorkshire:
27 February 2024 at Whiston Parish Church CC, 6.30-9.30pm
18th March 2024 at Whitley Hall CC, 6.30-9.30pm

Scorer training
The Electronic Scoring course will take place at Shaw Lane Sports Club, Barnsley on 21 January. Scorers who wish to attend should register at Electronic Scoring Yorkshire ACO.
The Club Scorer course will be held over two days on 13 & 14 January, also Shaw Lane Sports Club, Barnsley. Scorers who wish to attend should register at Club Scorer Yorkshire ACO.
Both courses are ECB ACO accredited, and the League will subsidise candidates, by a rebate. Candidates will need to book on via the links and monies will be reimbursed later
DLS education sessions for Division 1 and 2 scorers and captains will take place as follows:
Monday 29 January at Warmsworth CC
Tuesday 30 January at Shaw Lane Sports Club, Barnsley
Wednesday 7 February at Rotherham Rugby Club (tbc)
Thursday 8 February at Aston Hall CC
All sessions start at 7pm, and will last an hour. Clubs should confirm attendance to Steve Ward in advance.
Four sessions have been arranged for the YCSPL Women’s & Girls’ League, to educate their scorers on both paper and electronic scoring. These are on the following days, times to be confirmed:
Saturday 20 January at Whiston Forge CC
Saturday 10 February at Millhouses CC
Sunday 25 February at Shaw Lane, Barnsley
Sunday 10 March at Tickhill CC
Umpires’ social meetings
There will be no meeting in December – the next meeting will take place at 7.00pm at Whiston Forge CC, Guilthwaite Hill, Whiston, on Tuesday 23 January.
