The latter burned down in 1981 and was subsequently rebuilt. The club aims to promote the game of cricket at all possible levels, and to endeavour to provide the best possible facilities for members and visitors. Wath CC currently field five senior teams, the first XI compete in the Championship division, with two other Saturday teams in the YCSPL .

About us - The club were formed in 2015 through the amalgamation of Whiston CC and Forgemasters CC. Over the last two years the club has made great strides both on and off the field. After the 2020 season, the club obtained a portakabin, which they converted into two changing rooms with showers, in time for the start of the following season. The old pavilion was gutted to create an open seating area, which has enabled the club to hold functions and to host local societies, and there is a large decking area with a view over the ground in front of the new changing rooms. Senior player Mick Raleigh has worked tirelessly to produce a playing area of which the club can be proud. Future plans include rendering the outside of the pavilion, cladding the changing rooms, and converting the old shower room into a separate gent’s toilet.
In addition to the two Saturday sides, the club run a mid-week team, and a thriving All Stars and Dynamos programme on Friday nights.

About us - Whitley Hall CC originated as the Whitley Pondlarks in the 19th century, playing on Whitley Lane with the nearby Norfolk Arms as the club’s headquarters. The club was disbanded in late 1924 following a storm which destroyed the pavilion, and George Harry Baxter, who had been associated with the club from around 1911, was chiefly responsible for the formation of the ‘modern’ Whitley Hall Cricket Club in 1925. In 1926, the club moved to its current ground, which, since 2007, has been known as Baxter Field. The tradition of long service synonymous with the Baxter family lives on, and Whitley is blessed with many loyal members who devote much time and effort to the club’s cause. The club is proud of its tradition as a family club with strong local ties, a welcoming atmosphere, and a desire to play cricket in the true spirit of the game. Successes have included winning the Yorkshire Council Championship in three times; the SYSCL Championship in 2010; the Black Sheep Champion of Champions Trophy in 2011 and 2012 (the first club to win that trophy two years in succession): the Whitworth Cup nine times; and most recently, the YSPL Jack Bland Trophy in 2020. The club opened a new state-of-the-art net facility at the bottom end of the ground for the 2021 season.
