Ground information - (Crimicar) ample car parking; toilets and refreshments available
(Sandygate) - limited car parking
About us - One of the oldest cricket clubs in the country, Hallam CC’s history can be traced back to 1804, when they first played on their Sandygate ground, currently used by their third and fourth teams. In 2019, Hallam moved their first and second teams to the Crimicar Lane ground, where they have developed the pavilion facilities.
As members of the South Yorkshire Senior Cricket League, Hallam gained a reputation for developing young players, and their teams are predominantly made up of home-grown players. As SYSCL champions in 2016, Hallam's 1st XI gained promotion to the YSPL for the following season, and finished in a very creditable seventh place. They followed this up by becoming YSPL t20 champions in 2018. The following season, Hallam staged a remarkable recovery, winning six of their last nine games to avoid relegation. A disappointing 2021 season saw both first and second teams relegated, but a very succesful 2022 saw the 1st XI promoted into the Prenier Division and win the Whitworth Cup.

About us - Higham CC were formed in 1875, competing in their early years in the Darton & District League. By the post-WWII period, they were playing in the Huddersfield Central League, of whose Premier Division they became longstanding members.
But by the mid 2010s, the club were in serious decline. From running two Saturday teams plus a Sunday side they were struggling to field one side. In 2016 they faced a stark choice. Either to close the club down or to revive it. A small faithful band made the right choice, and started to raise funds for a new pavilion. After much hard work and some set-backs, this was finally opened in 2018 by Yorkshire CCC Chief Executive Mark Arthur. Also that year, the disbanding of the Huddersfield Central League, Higham made the move into the old SYSCL. This also helped the club to attract new players, as they were playing much more in their ‘home area’.
The club now has a thriving womens’ and girls’ section, with a very successful ladies’ softball side, who won their South Yorkshire League title in 2021. HIgham offer All Stars and Dynamo programmes, but next season, their one junior side will be the girls under 11s. The club also successfully applied to become a ‘Disability Champion Club’ and last year twice hosted the Yorkshire disabled XI.
Several community groups and societies use the excellent new facilities - now really a seven-day-a-week facility - and Higham are already embarking on their next major project. The old changing room building is to be replaced with a new three-bay changing room block, with main dressing rooms on either side and a dressing room in the middle with specific facilities for women & girls and disability cricket. The club then intend to adapt the existing changing rooms in the pavilion to provide more space for the community facility.

About us - KCC were reformed in 1954, and played the first match at the current ground at Bence Lane in 1958 as members as the old Denby Grange League. In 1963 the club moved to the Huddersfield Central League where over a ten year period from 1975 to 1985 the 1st XI were Section A champions six times, including four seasons in a row (1982 to 1985), Allsop Cup winners four times, and won the inter-league competition, the Goulder Trophy in 1980.
As a result of their dominance in the Central League, KCC made a successful application to join the Huddersfield League, a natural step up to the next level, and became the first South Yorkshire club to play in that League. They were members of the Huddersfield League from 1987 to 2010. The 1st XI were losing Sykes Cup Semi Finalists three times, Oddfellows Cup winners once, Section B champions once and runners up once. Conference champions once. The 2nd XI were Section B champions twice, Conference champions once and also reached the Paddock Shield Semi Final once.
The club joined the South Yorkshire Senior Cricket League in 2011 and honours have included Whitworth Cup winners 2017, Yorkshire Cricket Council finalists 2011 and Mick Savage finalists 2012. The 2nd XI have also been successful as Division 4 West Champions in 2015, and achieved the double of Presidents Cup winners and Division 3 West Champions in 2016.
In addition to the 1st and 2nd XIs, KCC also have a development team in the Barnsley & District Cricket League, where juniors are given their opportunity to play senior cricket for the first time. The club also has a junior section with teams in the Barnsley & District League, and participate in the ECB All Stars and Dymamos initiatives.
