Clubs' bulletin no 13 of 2022 - 8 July

DBS checks

Clubs should be aware that it is an ECB requirement that all people that come in contact with juniors on a regular basis do have a current DBS check. There are 23 roles listed by ECB, ranging from captains and coaches to, in some cases, tea ladies. On the ECB disclosure administration site there are several disclosure checks in our league that are outstanding; these need completing to become compliant with ECB requirements.

League structure

The finalised 2023 league structure including the promotion/relegation arrangements for this season has now been published. Promotion inspections and Clubmark reviews are now ongoing.

Live Streaming

This item is to confirm to all umpires that live streaming will take place on all YCSPL matchdays at Ackworth, Barnsley (Shaw Lane) and Darfield. This notice alleviates the need for umpires to be notified on an individual basis. The clubs will continue to contact the opposition in advance, as before.

Play-Cricket

We have received an important notice for scorers using PCS Pro, which announces the release of PCS Pro v5.0.6.

This release includes several updates following feedback from the last few weeks of professional and recreational cricket, most importantly improvements to the issue where live streaming overlays would sometimes not display, enhancements to the Frame Stabilisation setting to improve video capture on less reliable networks, and a new ‘traffic light’ indicator system on the health of the IP Camera network (and hourly logging of these as a ‘Health Report’).

Please ensure you update to this version before scoring this weekend.

Player survey

The survey closes on Saturday night, so there are now just two full days for players to make their voices heard. The number of responses received is now just short of 300 – let’s see if we can break the 300 barrier before we close!

After the survey closes, the responses will be analysed and a summary published on the website. The results will be used to formulate any proposals for rule changes to go to the AGM. We are also working with the umpires associations on an officials survey.

Postponements agreed due to Eid al-Adha

Division 4 – Maltby Miners Welfare v Shiregreen 2nds
