Clubs bulletin no 2 of 2024 - 6 March
All Stars/Dynamos
Funding is available in 2024 for All Stars and Dynamos programmes. These programmes are a good way for clubs without junior sections to get one started; also, the funded places should help in terms of increasing numbers at those clubs where that is an issue. For more information, please contact Gareth Davis.
Clubmark
Clubs have until 30 April to ensure that they are compliant. Provided that clubs have evidence that they have taken whatever action is necessary, for example on SHMS, this will be acceptable even where it is not shown as completed on the system.
Facilities survey
We thank clubs who have already completed the survey, but there are still a number that have not. The survey is important in evidencing the need for new and enhanced facilities when considering when and where to invest and bring investment into the game. We urge clubs that have not completed it to do so – it only takes ten minutes to complete at most. Please complete the survey here.
Overseas players
With the start of the season now just over six weeks away, and pre-season preparations in full swing – including player registrations – we thought it would be useful to draw all the guidance regarding overseas players together and include it in one place. We have therefore opened a new Overseas Players Guidance page on the League website, where you will be find guidance on:
• a guide to visas – what you can and can’t do
• ECB guidance
• International Sportspersons Visas
• league rules
Pre-Season meetings
The pre-season meeting for the collection of balls, handbooks, etc, and to provide any latest information for clubs before the start of the season, will take place at Shaw Lane sports club, Barnsley, on Wednesday 10 April (7.00pm start, with collection of balls and handbooks before the meeting from 6.00pm).
The pre-season meeting for all Premier Section captains will take place by Zoom on Wednesday 17 April at 7.30pm. Full joining details will be sent out nearer the time.
Scoring courses
The Pre-Season meeting for Premier Section scorers will be held at Shaw Lane, Barnsley on Sunday 23 March at 9.30am until approximately 1pm. This is the ideal time to ensure laptops are season ready, and there will be plenty of time to do a refresher on Scorer Pro software and DLS.
Two further sessions for Division 1 and 2 clubs on DLS have been arranged, the first at Wath CC on Thursday 6 March at 6.30pm, the second at Wickersley Old Village CC on Thursday 11 April, also at 6.30pm. It is very important that any Division 1 or 2 scorers who have not already attended a DLS session should attend one of these.
