Clubs' bulletin no 9 of 2023 - 27 May

Bursaries for womens’ coaching courses. If your clubs’ Women’s and Girls’ Section has someone who would like to undertake a coaching course, help may be available. Please contact Mel Mahmood or Gareth Davis for advice.

Cancellations. Please remember, if your game is cancelled on or before the morning of the match, to contact David Ward or Lindsay Scothern, who can appoint the umpires to another game.

Club mailings reminder. If you have not already done so, please remember to email Roger Pugh, to let him know the email addresses of those officials at your club that would like to receive general information, such as this bulletin.

Development Fund. There is a significant amount of money available to Senior Section clubs in the League’s Development Fund. This is to help with small projects, purchases of equipment, etc. If your club wants to improve its equipment or facilities and would like to find out if the fund can help, please contact David Ward

Email & WhatsApp scams. We have been alerted, that there are some scam emails and WhatsApp messages in circulation pretending to be from league committee members. If you receive any texts, emails or calls claiming to be someone from the league, in the first instance, please check the email address from the sender, if it’s not from someone you recognise, please ignore it or forward the email onto David Ward or Roger Pugh for clarification.

Photos. Photos from games this month at Ackworth, Adwick-le-Street, Barnby Dun, Brookhouse, Scholes & Harley and Tickhill have now been posted on the League website

Positive feedback. We encourage captains and umpires to report issues that are not acceptable, but equally important is to recognise good things. Recently we have had two reports from umpires about very positive matchday experiences, concerning a game between Whiston Forge and Conisbrough 2nds, and the T20 Plate matchday hosting by Coal Aston. Please let us have more of these where you think a club or official is deserving of praise by emailing David Ward or Roger Pugh. We will keep them on record and feed back to those involved.

Premier Section ball trails. The first ball trials for Premier Section games are scheduled to take place on Saturday 17 June, when the Dukes County International ball will be used at all games. A link is to be issue to captains to a feedback form to be used after the game. If you have any queries, please contact Steve Ward

Yorkshire 2nds at Abbeydale. Next Tuesday, 31 May, at Abbeydale Park, the home of Sheffield Collegiate CC, Yorkshire 2nds will play Derbyshire 2nds in a T20 game, starting at 2.00pm. Admission is free and it is hoped that Darren Gough will make a guest appearance.
