Clubs' bulletin no 13 of 2023 - 29 July
Mateo Boulogne
We are very sad to learn that the very talented young batsman from St Lucia at Thorpe Hesley & High Green CC, Mateo Boulogne, has suffered a stroke. Mateo, who is only 21, is now recovering from a loss of movement on the left side of his body. Mateo is in his second season at Thorpe Hesley, a very popular and dedicated member of his club side and the League’s third highest run-scorer this season, with a best of 209 against Parkhead.
Thorpe Hesley & High Green CC are raising awareness and funds to support Mateo's rehabilitation. There will be a T20 game at the club on Sunday 13 August, about which we will provide details as soon as they are available. In the meantime, the club have set up a Just Giving page to facilitate online donations, and they hope people will contribute generously to help Mateo get the necessary treatment and support he needs.
We wish Mateo all the very best for a full and speedy recovery.

Activation of accounts. Activation of accounts. If any player has not accessed their account in the last two years, the P-C system automatically changes the account status to ‘temporary’, which means that the player is no longer registered to play. Please remind all players accordingly. Clubs’ Main Administrators can access a full list of unregistered players in ‘Site Administration’ at any time, by clicking ‘Day to Day’, then ‘Members’, then ‘Member Database’ then ‘Advanced’, then ‘Role’, then select ‘League Registered Players’ from the drop-down list, then ‘User Type’, then select ‘Unregistered’, and then ‘Search’.
You can also search for an individual player by inserting in the 'Search For' box either the player's surname, first name, email address, or the parent's email address then click 'Search' again.
Transfers. There are now just three days remaining for the transfer of players in the 2023 season – the transfer window closes at midnight on 31 July 2023. Please ensure that all applications are correctly submitted in time to meet this deadline. Please also remember that all players under the age of 16 will require parental consent, which can delay applications.

Vacancies for new teams in 2024
It is likely that we will have two or three vacancies at Division 9 level next season, even if no team withdraws. This may be an opportunity for clubs who might be looking to expand, being mindful that they may need time to source a ground (note that the new team could play on an artificial pitch, provided there are adequate changing facilities, and screens).
