This Sunday, 16 July, sees the finals of the YCSPL T20 Blast and the T20 Plate competitions, which are being held at Aston Hall CC, Green Lane, Aston S26 2BD.

The Blast final is between last years finalists, winners Barnsley Woolley Miners CC and runners-up Doncaster Town CC. There is currently a great similarity between make-ups of these two former Yorkshire League sides, with both having an Australian star overseas batsman, Jake Weatherald for Barnsley and Caleb Jewell for Doncaster, whilst the vast majority of both teams are players who have come up through their clubs' junior set-ups. Both contain many potential matchwinners, like spin twins Ali Jahangir and Ollie Jackson for Barnsley, and Jaden Fell and James Dobson for Doncaster.

The Plate final is between Cawthorne CC and Wath CC, both of whom field a mixture of youth and experience in their ranks, but who have chosen different routes for their overseas imports. For Cawthorne, there is the YCSPL leading wicket-taker, Sri Lankan slow left-armer Methushan Thilina, whilst Wath boast young Australian batsman Jayden Vince. Both are backed up by potential match-winners and seasoned campaigners like prolific batsmen Liam Wiles and Luke Ogden for Cawthorne, and talented all-rounder Ben Roebuck and wily left-armer Michael Bates for Wath.

Play gets under way with the Plate final at 11.00, followed by presentations; and the Blast final starts at 15.00, again followed by presentations.

The Aston Hall club have provided additional parking adjacent to the ground; the programme for the day is £2, including entry into the raffle; there is a barbeque and the bar will be open all day for drinks and light refreshments.

We hope for a good attendance, a fine day, and some really good cricket! All are welcome.
