On Saturday, with the whole of the Premier and Championship Division programmes already postponed to 26 August, just four League games in the Senior Section beat the difficulties caused by the recent poor weather.

In Division 5, Barnby Dun had a 94-run win over Fishlake at Glass Park. David Barrett (55) and skipper Alex Pepper (70) led the hosts to 171-6 after they were asked to bat first. They then bowled Fishlake out for 77, Rohail Habib taking three of the last four wickets for the addition of one run.

In the one game in Division 6, at Carr Side Lane, visitors Sheffield United 2nds had a four-wicket win over Hatfield Town 2nds in a low-scoring game. Visiting skipper Tawqeer Hussain took 7-15 in ten overs after putting the hosts in to bat; and only Tahseen Shinwari (10 not out) reached double figures as they were bowled out for 49. Siraj Alam (27 not out) then steered his side to a four-wicket win after they had been 16-6 – Adil Sikander and Josh Platt both taking 3-15.

In Division 7, Adwick-le-Street had the better of a battle between two newly-promoted sides, gaining a 39-run win over Upper Haugh 3rds at Hooton Pagnell. New signing James Wadsworth (45) and skipper Matthew Eades (66) put on 125 for the visitors’ first wicket as they reached 165-6 after being asked to bat first. Seasoned campaigner Nick Bisby then took 4-43 as the hosts were restricted to 126-7, with only Rafuillah Ahmed (44) providing much resistance.

In Division 8, at the Beecroft Estates ground, Matthew Green (36) and Mark Elliott (35 not out) helped visitors Kexborough 2nds to 153-5 after being put in to bat, then opening bowlers Thomas Woods and Thomas Green took three wickets each as Mexborough Athletic 2nds were bowled out for 109 in reply.

No games were played on Sunday 21 April.
