On a day when the league programme was decimated by the wet weather in the days leading up to the games, only four league games out of a programme of 60 games could be played.

The only game played in the Premier Section was Doncaster Town 2nds Championship debut against Sprotbrough at Town Field. In a game in which only four players reached double figures and the top score was 15, the match-winner was home skipper Warren Graca, with the remarkable figures of 14.2-6-11-7, as Sprotbrough failed by 25 runs to overhaul the home side’s 84 after being put in to bat.

In the Senior Section, Ackworth got their debut Division 1 campaign off to a great start at the Boot & Shoe ground. Amitpaul Kundra, with 62 was the mainstay of his side’s 143 after being put in to bat, despite Corey Manderson’s 5-38. Home skipper Luke Townsend led the way with 4-22 as visitors Aston Hall 2nds were bowled out for 49.

In Division 2 at Alderson Drive, Louis Botha took 7-21 for Tickhill 2nds as visitors Norton Oakes were put in to bat and bowled out for 62. In reply, the home side also struggled, against Callum East (4-31) and Daniel Baldwin (5-33), with only James Waller (23) reaching double figures as they passed their modest target with only one wicket in hand.

In the only other game played, Hatfield Town 2nds had a comfortable win over Millhouses Works 2nds at Carr Side Lane in Division 7. Having elected to bat first, the home side reached 123-9 in their 40 overs, Greg Fairhurst top-scoring with 39 and sharing a crucial fifth-wicket stand of 42 with Sharafat Hussain. Andrew Decent (4-6) helped restrict Millhouses to 73-9 in reply.
