Here is this week’s round-up of information for YCSPL clubs.
17" Lines. In the 2020 season, a trial was carried out in the SYSCL Championship of the SYSCL, after a request from captains and senior club officials, to use 17" lines for clarifying off-side wides. This is not being continued, and the 17" lines are not a requirement in any division this season.
Presidents Trophy and Billy Oates Cup rules. There are no Power Plays, automatic leg-side wides or carry-over of overs in these cup competitions. The fielding restrictions are as for Saturday league matches, ie, six players in the inner circle at all times.
Play-Cricket communications. We felt that the issue of the first bulletin using Play-Cricket was an overall success, but there were a handful of people who did not receive the bulletin. This is likely to be because either the recipient did not have a Play-Cricket online account, or their account had lapsed as it had not been used for a year. Club chairmen and secretaries will need to have an active online account to receive the bulletin – if in doubt please contact Melvyn Bond. More generally, as we are using Play-Cricket more and more for communications, clubs must ensure that changes to officials and contact details are updated on Play-Cricket.
