Clubs urged to help the League find potential sponsors

The YCSPL has taken the decision to look for individual sponsors for our different divisions and cup competitions, rather than seeking a single 'whole league' sponsor. We hope in this way to give opportunity to a range of sponsors to become involved in our league, and that we can appeal to smaller community-based business that are at the heart of our region's communities.
We have already recruited ExtraCover Insurance as Whitworth Cup sponsors, to add to Viking Cricket, who sponsor the Premier Leagues knock-out cup, and we are currently in constructive talks with a couple more interested parties. We are looking for sponsorships of between £2,000 and £350 per year, dependent on the division or cup competition involved.
We now urge all our clubs to help us achieve our target of a total of £11,000 per season by talking to businesses they know, who they believe may be interested in becoming involved. For every sponsorship that a club helps us to secure, the League will give that club 15% of the sponsorship received. If all sponsorship is taken up, that will be £1,500 back to our clubs.
Divisions or cup names will be prefaced by the sponsors' name, and benefits of sponsorship will include regular coverage during the season in local media, our website, Play-Cricket and on social media. There will also be an opportunity for the sponsor to present the trophy to the winners, either on the field or at our presentation night.
We ask clubs to make initial enquiries with potential sponsors, and, if there is interest, to contact the League chairman, Matt Summerhill, with details of who to speak to, and we will follow up from there.
