Following the latest ECB roadmap issued on 19th March 2021, the League vice-chairman, David Ward, his issued two letters of clarification to all clubs. The messages contained in the two letters are as follows:
The planned commencement of the season will be the 17th April 2021, which is subject to Government approval as indicated in the ECB roadmap.
We will follow the guidelines in the ECB roadmap, and review as necessary.
There will be no reduction in overs in any competition.
Sanitisation breaks and their effect on the time allowed for overs to be bowled will be as follows:
in the Premier, Championship, and Divisions 1 and 2, the time allowed to bowl 50 overs will be 3hrs 25mins; this is to allow for eight two-minute sanitisation breaks at six-over intervals, or at the fall of wicket
in Divisions 3, 4 and 5, the time allowed to bowl 46 overs will be 3hrs 10mins; this is to allow for seven two-minute sanitisation breaks at six-over intervals, or at the fall of wicket
in Divisions 6, 7 and 8, the time allowed to bowl 40 overs will be 2hrs 45mins; this is to allow for six two-minute sanitisation breaks at six-over intervals, or at the fall of wicket
in Viking Cup, Whitworth Cup, Mick Savage Trophy, Presidents Trophy and the Billy Oates Cup, the time allowed to bowl 40 overs will be 3hrs 5mins; this is to allow for six two-minute sanitisation breaks at six-over intervals, or at the fall of wicket
Players are not to leave the field of play for sanitisation breaks; clubs are to make arrangements for the sanitisation gel to be brought onto the field of play for the players and umpires. Players may carry and use their own sanitisation gel if they so wish.
Clubs will not be providing teas, players and umpires must provide their own.
The length of tea interval can be reduced it both teams and the umpires agree.
Dressing rooms must remain closed. The situation will be as at the end of the 2020 season. Toilet facilities can be opened.
Wherever possible, there should be two scorers at games – however, only one scorer should be in the box with the other outside.
Both T20 competitions will be reviewed because of no more that 30 people being allowed at the ground. Details will follow.
The match planned for 10th April 2021, Warmsworth 2 v Fishlake 2, will need to be rearranged.
