Premier Division
It is all very much a case of ‘as you were’ at the top of the division, with the top four all winning. Chasing Doncaster Town’s 212-8 at Abbeydale, Sheryaar Ali and Shaaiq Choudhry (60) set unbeaten leaders Sheffield Collegiate on their way to a four-wicket win with two balls to spare. Muhammad Amir took 4-42 to help second-placed Cleethorpes bowl out Wakefield Thornes for 180 at Chichester Road; then Nic Keast (86) and Jordan Cook, with a third-wicket stand of 108, appeared to have put their side in a comfortable position in reply, but from 138-2 they lost six wickets for 30 runs, with Vinnie Ogden taking 5-32, before winning by two wickets. 224 off 142 balls from Ronan Herrman, who shared in a 230-run fourth wicket stand with Connor Fisher (71), took Tickhill to 394-6 against Whiston Parish Church at Church Fields. Bhargav Merai (63) and skipper Danny Kemp added 113 for the hosts’ third wicket, but once they were parted, Josh Court (4-54) and Liam Johnson (4-30) ran through the rest of the order, and Whiston were all out for 184. George Booth and Liam Wiles (59) put on 117 for Cawthorne’s third wicket against Sprotbrough at Dark Lane, skipper Archie Greaves weighing in with a brisk unbeaten 56 in their 252-7; Parteek Khasa then made 50 when the visitors replied, but they fell well short on 182-9. George Cowan took 5-47 when Whitley Hall bowled Hallam out for 138 at Baxter Field, then an unbeaten 50 from Callum Bethell saw the hosts to a seven-wicket win. Ibrahim Safi took 4-29 for Wickersley Old Village when they bowled Appleby Frodingham out for 147 at the Beerpig Oval; the hosts were then 42-6 in reply before thirties from Safi and Jordan Lowe helped see them to a two-wicket win with overs to spare.
Championship Division
Jerome Bossr (107 off 128 balls) and Daniel Malyan-Walker (54) were the main contributors to leaders Ackworth’s 264-9 against Doncaster Town 2nds at the Spinks Ground. Dale Longfield took 4-57 when the hosts replied, and they closed on 232-8. Opener Michael Brown’s unbeaten 95 was the backbone of Oughtibridge War Memorial’s 220-5 against second-placed Barnsley Woolley Miners at Shaw Lane; then Ali Zaryab’s 107 off 120 balls helped the hosts to a two-wicket win off the very last ball, and took his personal tally to 601 league runs in just seven games. Elsecar lost ground on the leaders after a shock defeat against Upper Haugh at the Al-Murad Stadium. Skipper on the day Peter Hadfield made an unbeaten 53 in the hosts 189-9, Parvez Asghar taking 4-57 for Upper Haugh; Connor Sanderson then made 55 when the visitors claimed a four-wicket win in just 33 overs. Sheffield Collegiate 2nds narrowed the gap to the top four when they beat fourth-placed Aston Hall at Green Lane. Greg Mann (62) and Matt Tyas (66) put on 129 for the visitors’ fourth wicket in their 243-7; in their reply Aston Hall reached 207-9, Muhammad Khan making 54. Coal Aston made 206-9 at home to Shiregreen, with Jon Trower making 54 and Muhammad Rameez taking 5-54; then Mohsim Khan (52) helped the visitors to a five-wicket win. Skipper Andy Baker made 50 in Rockingham Colliery’s 224 all out against Tickhill 2nds at the Brookfield Oval; but a fourth-wicket partnership of 181 between skipper Nathaniel Wilkes (80) and Hernus Marais (108 not out off 125 balls) took the hosts to a four-wicket win.
Division 1
Leaders Warmsworth retained their 100% record after a low-scoring win over Monk Bretton at Common Lane, after Dominic Fell and Joshua van Oudtshoorn took four wickets each to bowl the visitors out for 130, Kyle Humphrys top-scoring with 50; then Lewis Brown took 4-33 when Bretton were all out for 115 in reply. Wath retained second place after Syed Shah took 4-41 to help them bowl Houghton Main out for 154 at Moor Road, Asim Javed making 50 for the visitors; Shah (68 not out) and Hussnain Hussain (61 not out) then took Wath to a seven-wicket win with an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 121. Treeton kept in the hunt by beating Wickersley Old Village 2nds at Washfield Road. Charlie Harrison (73 not out) and Aqeel Ahmed (59) helped the visitors reach 245-6; but Gareth Davis (56) and Steve Foster (77 not out) helped their side to a three-wicket win. Samuel Grant (116 off 70 balls), who shared partnerships for the fourth wicket of 101 with Travis Cresswell (68) and 128 for the fifth with Aaron Lowe (50), carried fourth-placed Conisbrough to a formidable 329-8 to home to Cawthorne 2nds, for whom Thom Macrow took 5-103; Nick Lowe (113 off 112 balls) and Kade Fletcher (88) put on 145 for the third wicket when the visitors replied, but Nathan Lovell took 6-73 and they were all out for 268. Whitley Hall 2nds were 42-4 away to Frickley Colliery but Sam Woodcock (87) lifted them to 181-8, Jack Danks taking 4-30 for the hosts; then Jordan Bowers (85) and Stephen Ashworth (56 not out) put on an unbeaten 154 together for the fourth wicket to take Frickley to a seven-wicket win in the 36th over. Nazan Mohammed (101 off 131 balls) was the main man for Parkhead, who made 243 all out at Park Lane against West Bretton, for whom Alex Gough made 4-89; then opener Ben Summers made an unbeaten 111 off 126 balls to steer the hosts to a six-wicket win in the 43rd over.
Division 2
Michael Goodchild (66) and Luke Profitt (111 off 114 balls) put on 165 for leaders Sheffield Collegiate 3rds’ first wicket against Wakefield Thornes 2nds at Field Lane, and the visitors posted a healthy 278-8, despite Brad Green’s 5-60; Goodchild and Ben Fielding then both took four wickets when Thornes were bowled out for 128 in reply. Norton Woodseats leapfrogged neighbours Norton Oakes after beating them at Matthews Lane. Ronald Richards-Caines made 51 in the hosts’ 181 all out, whilst Joshua Cross took 5-32 for Oakes, who were then all out for 146 in reply. Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds are up to joint-third after beating bottom side Hallam 2nds at Crimicar. They restricted their hosts to 190-8, before reaching their target with three wickets and ten balls to spare. Ashley Reynolds took 5-42 and Oliver Law 4-37 when Penistone were bowled out for 107 by Thorpe Hesley & High Green at Smithywood Road; and the hosts duly completed a seven-wicket win that moves them into the top half of the table, whilst Penistone drop three places to fifth. Siraj Alam (4-23) and Tim Shaw (5.5-4-6-5) combined to bowl Hatfield Town out for 64 at Carr Side Lane, and Aston Hall 2nds completed a ten-wicket win in the 19th over. Millhouses Works were 102-8 at home to Elsecar 2nds before Iain Mallett (50) and John Woods (48 not out) helped them up to 178 all out; then Oliver Blackburn was the visitors’ matchwinner with an unbeaten 70 in their five-wicket win.
Division 3
Coal Aston 2nds march on at the top of the division; Shazad Hussain (5-38) helped them restrict Shiregreen 2nds to 163-8, and he was then 65 not out when his side completed a five-wicket win. Frecheville Community held on to second place when they chased down Upper Haugh 2nds’ 223 all out at Wentworth Road. Matthew Bacon made 54 for the hosts; then Daniel Kempton (70) and Lewis Wake (55) put on 120 for Frecheville’s first wicket, and they went on to win by five wickets. Behind these two, just six points separate six clubs, with Darfield jumping up to third after bowling Oughtibridge War Memorial 2nds out for 140 at Waterside Gardens; Josh Barrick and Lewis Thorpe (55 not out) then putting on an unbroken second wicket stand of 101 as the visitors completed a nine-wicket win. Jawad Akhtar made an unbeaten 63 in Rockingham Colliery 2nds’ 223-6 at home to bottom club Wath 2nds, who were all out for 84 in reply, Akhtar completing an excellent all-round game with 7-21. An unbeaten 69 from Josh Mottram was the highlight for Sprotbrough 2nds when they were all out for 194 at home to Sheffield United, for whom Shahrukh Khan took 6-46; skipper Zabe Javed (116 off 111 balls) then led United to four-wicket win. Four wickets each for Liam Levitt and Joe McLee helped Worsbrough Bridge to bowl Higham out for 144 at the Warm Roofs ground; then the hosts completed a three-wicket win despite Gareth Kilburn’s 4-35.
Division 4
Thorncliffe & Wentworth returned to the top of the division after skipper Connor Brunt (71) and Kamran Younis (87 not out) had led them to 241-5 against overnight leaders Whiston Forge, for whom Josh Cooke took 4-59; then Jason Clark took 4-29 when Forge were all out for 117 in reply. Sheffield University Staff are level on points at the top after a comfortable win over Bradfield Village Fellowship at Warminster Road. Umesh Mandal took 5-11 when the Staff bowled their visitors out for 83 in reply to Bradfield’s 198-9. A sixth-wicket stand of 142 between Rob Taylor (69) and James Tevendale (82 not out) took Treeton 2nds to 252-8 against Stocksbridge at Bracken Moor; the visitors were then all out for 244 in reply, despite 106 off 120 balls by Robbie Broomhead, whilst Taylor followed up his earlier 69 with 4-15. Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rds were bowled out for 120 by Pledwick at Woolley, James Eastlake taking 6-22; then Eastlake (53 not out) and Jake Marshall (62 not out) passed their target without loss of wicket in the 33rd over. Richard Burgess (57) and Bavasuthan Selvanayagam (107 off 93 balls) helped Kexborough post 251-4 against Ackworth 2nds at Bence Lane; Oliver Mitchell (64) then held the upper order together for the visitors before unbeaten fifties from Keelan Booth and Arran Taylor in an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 98 saw Ackworth to a five-wicket win with eight balls left.
Division 5
Wombwell Main now lead the table by 18 points after beating Warmsworth 2nds at the I-Source Stadium. Mark Mustill-Hope took 5-49 when the visitors were dismissed for 160, with Jay Horne unbeaten on 68; then Mustill-Hope (53 not out) and Thomas Goldsby-West (63 not out) put on an unbroken third-wicket stand of 129 when the hosts completed an eight-wicket win. Twelve points separate the next nine clubs, with Hatfield Town 2nds just having their noses in front of the pack after beating Waverley at Totley. Kevin Marshall took 5-30 when the hosts were bowled out for 195; and Hatfield were 78-6 before forties from Elliot Palmer and Adil Sikander helped them reach a three-wicket win. Sheffield Collegiate 4ths lost second place after losing to second-bottom Hallam 3rds at Abbeydale. Neil Mountjoy took 4-39 for the visitors when Collegiate were bowled out for 125; then opener Terence Balmer (54) steered Hallam to within sight of their six-wicket win. Penistone 2nds leapfrogged Thorpe Hesley & High Green 2nds at Queen Street; after restricting their visitors to 163-9, John Beachill (58 not out) steered Penistone to a two-wicket win. Silkstone United skipper Lee White produced a top all-round performance when he took 5-25 to restrict Millhouses Works 2nds to 148-9, and then he made 67 at the top of the order in their seven-wicket win. Callum Fuller (118 off 75 balls) and Luke Hicks (50 not out) were the main run-scorers in Maltby Miners Welfare’s 283-4 against Barnby Dun at Glass Park; then Gary Mills took 4-16 when the hosts were bowled out for 54 in reply.
Division 6
Unbeaten Sheffield Centralians increased their lead at the top to 18 points after beating their closest rivals Parkhead 2nds in a run spree at Ecclesall Road. Muhammed Khan (88) and skipper Amjid Khan (70) led the way in their 341-9; then Nathaniel Sloane (51) and Harrison Vinall (51) were in the runs when the hosts replied, but they fell well short on 217-9, Ikrar Khan taking 4-33. Fishlake are two points behind Parkhead in third after a thriller at Pinfold Lane. Charlie Metcalfe made 56 in the hosts’ 141 all out, James Sturman taking 5-22; then skipper Basharat Ali top-scored with 57 for visitors Whiston Parish Church 2nds, but the scores finished level when the visitors were 141-8 after their 40 overs. Opener Scott Jones (122 off 103 balls) and Curtis Coles (67) put on 130 for the second wicket in fourth-placed Green Moor’s 281-7 against bottom club Handsworth at Chapel Lane, and the visitors were all out for 150 in reply, despite Waheed Bhatti’s 68, whilst Satvir Singh was amongst the wickets again with 6-30. Opener Khalil Khan’s unbeaten 66 enabled Sheffield United 2nds to chase down Whitley Hall 3rds’ 127 all out for the loss of only three wickets at Bawtry Road. Sheffield Caribbean 2nds posted 202-9 away to Wadworth, then Haider Abbas took 5-13 when the hosts were all out for 151 in reply. Scholes & Harley were 56-5 at home to Conisbrough 2nds before Mark Newbould’s unbeaten 76 steered them to a respectable 176-9; opener Charlie Tippett then carried his bat for an unbeaten 73 in the visitors reply, but they finished seven runs short of their target on 169-4.
Division 7 North
Another unbeaten side, Stocksbridge 2nds, stretched their lead at the top when they comfortably beat Houghton Main 2nds at Middlecliffe Lane. David Smith (71) top-scored for the visitors in their 238-8, whilst Gul Safi took 4-35; then John Musgrove took 5-37 when Houghton were all out 120 in reply. Second-placed Higham 2nds bowled Adwick-le-Street out for 125 at Royd Lane, with Steven Vickers taking 4-18; then Harry Bamforth made 57 in the hosts’ six-wicket win. Rockingham Colliery 3rds are eight points further behind Higham after they restricted Bradfield Village Fellowship 2nds to 127-7 at the Sands, Paul Garnett making 53; and they then completed a comfortable seven-wicket win. Wombwell Main 2nds dropped a place after being bowled out for 110 away to Darfield 2nds, for whom Nathan Barrowclough took 4-24; then Lewis Clayton made an unbeaten 57 in the hosts’ six-wicket win. Doncaster Town 4ths were 74-9 against Mexborough Athletic at Blaxton when an unbeaten 41 from last man Finley Briggs in an unbroken tenth-wicket stand of 74 with Mehtab Shabir doubled the score and they ended on 148-9; visiting skipper Lee Jeffries then made 84 off 52 balls when his side recorded a five-wicket win.
Division 7 South
Sheffield Medics are now joint-top of the division after beating after beating Sheffield Superkings at Baslow. Pranesh Sankar made 85 in the hosts’ 171 all out, Krishna Thota taking 5-35; Ullas Ramakrishna (55) then guided the Medics to a four-wicket win. David Thorpe recorded 7-5-6-6 when Norton Woodseats 2nds bowled The Chronicles England out for 35 at Graves Park; the joint leaders then lost six wickets in scoring the 36 runs needed. Baharullah Momand made 64 in Allama Iqbal’s 201 all out at home to Coal Aston 3rds, who were all out for 106 in reply, Israrullah Zakhil taking 5-36. Sheffield Transport bowled Wickersley Old Village 3rds out for 125, despite Jonathan Parker’s 61, with Chris Johnson taking 6-27; then chased down their target for the loss of seven wickets. Brookhouse bowled Sheffield Centralians 2nds out for 89 at Olive Grove; then lost five wickets in scoring the required runs.
Division 8 North
Another unbeaten side, Frickley Colliery 2nds, pulled ten points clear at top in the division when they bowled previously unbeaten Eden Madras Parklands out for 58 at Adwick Park, Luke Malone taking 5-16; and they then passed their target for the loss of five wickets. West Bretton 2nds are now level with Eden Madras after returning to winning ways against Upper Haugh 2nds at Hooton Pagnell. The hosts made 161-8; then an unbeaten 61 off 28 balls from skipper David Hoyle took Bretton to a six-wicket win in 29 overs. Pledwick 2nds are fourth after bowling Barnsley Woolley Miners 4ths out for 138, despite Hayden Parker-Wake’s 73, then completing a five-wicket win. Monk Bretton 2nds made 208-9 against bottom club Worsbrough Bridge 2nds at the Castle Ground; then bowled their visitors out for 90 in reply. Alfred Sheridan (75 not out), with support from Keith Ring and Seb Wainwright, who both made 56, helped Hallam 4ths make 261-6 against Sprotbrough 3rds at Sandygate; then Tim Banham took 4-18 when the visitors were bowled out for 90 in reply.
Division 8 South
The two unbeaten sides, Elsecar 3rds and Waverley 2nds, are still locked together at the top. Opener Alfie Rowbottom made 74 for Elsecar 3rds when they made 158-9 against Sheffield Spartans at Bakewell; then older brother Freddie Rowbottom took 4-24 to help bowl the hosts out for 86 in reply, Shabir Ali making 52 of those. Waverley 2nds were all out for 133 against Norton Oakes 2nds at Oakes Park, Belgin Thomas making 53 and Carl Fairhurst taking 4-23; Arithesh Uppumtharamel then took 4-29 and Oakes were all out for 108 in reply. De la Salle are in third place after Tim Venn (75) led the way in their 214-9 away to Handsworth 2nds; then Hamza Khan took 4-34 when the hosts were all out for 160 in reply. Opener Henry Sykes made 91 in Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds’ 188 all out away to Sheffield Transport 2nds, Andrew Bagley taking 5-50 for the hosts; Rakesh Raman made 59 when Transport replied, but Oliver Moorhouse took 4-33 and they were all out for 151. Warfan Zulfiqar took 4-43 for Sheffield Collegiate 5ths against Hallam 5ths, who made 184-9 at Birkdale School; then Nic Wheen took 4-12 when Collegiate were all out for 120 in reply.
On Sunday, Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds moved up to fourth by beating Norton Oakes 2nds by six wickets at Lound Side, where Seth Warrington made 70 in the visitors 133 all out, and Oliver Moorhouse completed a successful weekend with 4-28; then Kamran Younis made an unbeaten 58 in the hosts’ six-wicket win.
Division 9 North
Leaders Sheffield University Staff 2nds have now stretched their lead at the top to 20 points after overwhelming Higham 3rds at Thurgoland. Yashodhan Purandare (67) and Sam Kular (56 not out) were the main run-scorers in the visitors 261-4; then Oscar Evans took 6-25 when Higham were all out for 64 in reply. Sathishchander Gunasekhar made 81 in Eden Madras Parklands 2nds’ 210-7 against Dearne at Furlong Road; but Ben Whitehouse (76) then led Dearne to a fine five-wicket win. Craig Royston took 5-43 for Silkstone United 2nds when they bowled Mexborough Athletic 2nds out 140 at the Beecroft Estates ground; then an unbeaten 51 from Sean Pitt helped the visitors to a four-wicket win. Kexborough 2nds conceded to Sprotbrough 4ths and Fishlake 2nds conceded to Wath 3rds.
Division 9 South
Unbeaten leaders Coal Aston 4ths lead the division by eight points after beating Scholes & Harley 2nds at Stonelow, where the visitors were all out for 92, and the hosts wrapped up a six-wicket win in the 25th over. Skipper Srikar Pattipati made 66 in Sheffield University Staff 3rds’ 219-5 against Tickhill 3rds at Worksop College; the hosts were then all out for 136, despite Jacob Mortimore’s 50. Sam Reed (71) and Cade Darwin (93) put on 152 for third-placed Whiston Forge 2nds and Daniel Rose made a brisk unbeaten 50 in their 265-3; Oughtibridge War Memorial 3rds then made 133-6 in reply. Frecheville Community 2nds bowled Hallam 6ths out for 165 at the Hobson Bowl, where the visitors were 61-8 before number ten Joshua Beck made 68, whilst there were four wickets each for Danish Mohammad and Adam Gibson. Opener Adil Hasan then made a forceful 100, putting on 152 for the first wicket with skipper Kevan Cowley, to set up the hosts’ seven wicket win. Richmond made 155-9 against De la Salle 2nds at Beauchief, Matilda Murray taking 6-43 for the hosts; but Nishant Srivastava and Rishabh Verma took four wickets each when De la Salle were all out for 62 in reply.
