Cleethorpes took advantage of Tickhill’s defeat at Brumby Hall, by beating third-placed Wakefield Thornes at Field Lane to go back to the top of the Premier Division. James Rhodes (93) and Joe Billings (66) gave the hosts a great start with a stand of 130 for the second wicket before both fell to Maynak Mishra, who bowled the visitors back into the game with 4-62. 248-7 was still a challenging score, but Tom Keast (74) and Harry Warwick (51) responded with a second-wicket stand, also of 130, for Cleethorpes. Both fell to Jawad Akhtar (3-54) and although the visitors slipped to 162-5, skipper Ian Mansfield, with an unbeaten 46, steered his side to a two-wicket win with three balls left. Paul Hilton (3-13 in 11 overs) and Kieran Lindley (3-35) helped Appleby Frodingham bowl visitors Tickhill out for 98. The hosts then slipped to 11-3 in reply, but Jamie Brumby (31) joined his skipper, Alex Grimes (54*) in a crucial fourth-wicket stand of 65, and the Steelmen won with six wickets and eight overs to spare. They are now up to fifth place after a poor start to the season. Doncaster Town missed the chance to go joint-second with Tickhill and Thornes when they lost at home to Treeton. Taylor Fell (41) and Harsha Rajapaksha (35) added 56 for the hosts’ fourth wicket and Joe Gallagher contributed 36 lower in the order, but Charlie Bourne (4-60) helped restrict Town to 210-9 in 48 overs. In their reply, Treeton slipped to 62-7, but skipper Sam Drury, with a remarkable unbeaten 136 off 102 balls (14 fours and 7 sixes) took his side to victory without further loss of wicket. Ali Shah, who contributed 12, stayed with him whilst the pair added an unbeaten 153 for the eighth wicket. Treeton, in eleventh place, are now just nine points adrift of safety. Sheffield Collegiate are in sixth place after beating bottom club Elsecar at Abbeydale. Arsalan Mir (50) and Samarprit Joshi (69) helped the visitors to 206 all out, Shaaiq Choudhry taking 3-61 for the hosts. Jack Timby (82) and Choudhry (90*) then put on 122 to give their side a solid platform for their seven-wicket win, which was achieved off the last ball of their 50 overs. Jacob Cumming (67) and Sheryaar Ali (44) put on exactly 100 for the second wicket and Ali Jahangir contributed 47 as Barnsley Woolley Miners posted 252-9 against Whitley Hall at Shaw Lane, whilst there were three wickets each for Biswick Kapala, James Brown and Harrison Wood. When the visitors replied, Andrew Pickering contributed 34 at the top of the order, but the home side’s trio of slow bowlers dominated, Liam Johnson taking 3-41, Oliver Jackson 3-42 and Jahangir 3-16 as Whitley were spun out for 146. Shiregreen got their own back on Cawthorne in the return battle of the promoted sides at Dark Lane. Sana Ullah Khan (5-35) had the hosts in early trouble at 44-4, and they never really recovered, Wasim Khaliq chipping in with 3-41 as they were bowled out for 118. Danish Aziz took 4-24 when the visitors replied, but the target was not sufficiently challenging, and Shiregreen eased home with half their wickets and overs to spare. 
 
Wickersley Old Village now lead the Championship Division by 20 points after a routine win over Rockingham Colliery at Northfield Lane. Ben Simpson (37) and Vishvaraj Jadeja (44) added 59 for their second wicket and Abdul Qayoom hit 66 off 44 balls in the middle order as they reached 227-8, whilst Lasith Lakshan (5-65) was the pick of the visitors’ attack. Harry Grindle (62) and Ben Dalton (58) put on 110 for Rockingham’s first wicket in reply, but their progress was too slow, and they reached only 149-6 in reply, Dylan Smythe taking 3-57. Second and third in the table met at Crimicar, where Hallam leapfrogged Ackworth into second place after a comfortable win. Skipper Nick Dymock (49) and Matthias Paltridge, with an unbeaten 68 off 55 balls, took the hosts to 255-7, Bailey Matthews taking 3-62 for the visitors. When Ackworth replied, Jay Singh took 5-23 and they were soon in trouble at 71-6; skipper Luke Townsend (40) could only make the score more respectable and Ackworth were all out for 152. Whiston Parish Church are still in the promotion hunt, just two points behind Ackworth in fourth place, after beating Doncaster Town 2nds at Church Fields. Skipper Warren Graca (60) and Bradley Heaps (57) put on 115 for the visitors’ fourth wicket after Oscar Harris had been dismissed for 35, and Town posted 234-5. The hosts were 91-5 in reply, but skipper Gareth Davis (51*) and keeper Bilal Afzal (36) helped them recover, and Whiston won by two wickets with four overs left, Heaps completing a fine all-round game with 3-56. Thomas Pepper (37) and Louis Richardson (43) made runs in the upper order for Sprotbrough against Aston Hall, then Akhil Akhil (92) added 72 for the sixth wicket with George Thompson (44) to help their side post 273-7. Daniel Wright then took 8-16 in 15 overs as the visitors were dismissed for 60 in reply. Hayden Byrne made 71 in Wath’s 173 all out against Sheffield Collegiate 2nds at Moor Road, George Bartlett (5-31) and Tate Miller (3-36) taking the bowling honours for the visitors. Dan Old (84) and keeper Dylan McDonald (38) put on 92 for the first wicket to get Collegiate on their way, and Ben Corrigan contributed an unbeaten 34 as they reached their target for the loss of three wickets in 39 overs. Nicholas Robinson took 6-24 as Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds dispatched bottom club Houghton Main for 100 at Middlecliffe Lane. Alfie Gosney was unbeaten on 30 when the visitors completed an eight-wicket win in the 22nd over. 
 
The top game in Division 1 resulted in a seven-wicket win for Oughtibridge War Memorial over overnight leaders Darfield at Waterside Gardens, that took them back to the top of the table. Skipper Joe Stickland (70) and Lewis Sansome (54) put on 106 for the visitors’ third wicket after opener Will Scott had made 36, then Spencer Lavender hit 42 off 20 balls as Darfield posted a very challenging 268-6, but opener Naveed Arif (123 off 111 balls) shared partnerships of 118 with Jack Newton (53) and 139 with Hasaru Chaamikara (63*) as the hosts cruised to victory in the 44th over. Opener Tristan Alfred (50), Isaac Spencer-Jones (47) and Liam Heathcote (55) helped Wickersley Old Village 2nds to 247-7 against Conisbrough at Park Road. Skipper Matthew Lowe scored 70 at the top of the order for the hosts, then Nathan Chadburn (60*) and Nathan Smith (48) put on 104 for the fourth wicket, and Conisbrough reached their target with seven balls to spare. Chris Siddall (119*) and Matt Cartwright (99) put on 212 for Whitley Hall 2nds’ first wicket at home to Warmsworth, and Tim Smith added 48 off 28 balls as they posted as formidable 281-5. Nathan Swift (93) and Siddarth Ahhuja (68) helped the visitors to 166-1, but Joe Chatterton (4-40) and three wickets each for Jack Myers and Smith saw them bowled out for 252 in reply. Whitley are now five points ahead of Warmsworth in fourth place. Rotherham Town lost ground on the leaders when they were beaten by Tickhill 2nds at Alderson Drive. Keeper Bilal Hanif (39) and Hedar Rasool (34) top-scored in the visitors’ 140 all out, whilst Ibrahim Safi took 4-22 for the hosts. In their reply, James Waller made 51 as Tickhill won by seven wickets in the 30th over. Opener Habil Arshad hit an unbeaten 141 off 147 balls, sharing a fifth wicket stand of 69 with skipper Tommy Hyde (35), in Upper Haugh’s 240-9 against Aston Hall 2nds at Green Lane, Zaheer Mirza taking 5-68 for the hosts. When Aston replied, Arshad took 4-54 and there were three wickets each for Parvez Asghar and Connor Sanderson as they were bowled out for 179, Ali Ahmed’s 45 helping them to two bonus points after being 93-7. In a relegation battle at the Al-Murad Stadium, Wakefield Thornes 2nds improved their chances of climbing out of the bottom three with a win over bottom side Elsecar 2nds. All of Thornes’ top five passed 30, opener Jak Machin (42) the top-scorer as they reached 247-9, Shaun Pedler taking 4-57 and Vineeth Venugopalan three wickets for the hosts. But in reply, only keeper Callum Johnson (70) showed much real resistance against Brad Green (6-57) and Elsecar were all out for 218. 
 
Jon Trower’s 55 and a last-wicket stand of 62 between Michael Hunter and Shaun Trower were crucial in Coal Aston’s 163 all out against their nearest challengers in Division 2, Penistone, at Queen Street. Matt Scholey (4-43) and Chris Walmsley (3-43) were amongst the wickets again for the hosts, then Tom Reid hit 87 at the top of the order when they replied. But he received little support against Oscar Oborn-Corby (5-48), and when he was ninth out at 143, Penistone had to settle for six losing bonus points at 150-9. Unbeaten Coal Aston now lead the division by 46 points. Monk Bretton are 12 points clear in the third promotion place after beating Oughtibridge War Memorial 2nds at the Castle Ground. Skipper Ashley Clayton (35) and Danny Taylor (56) added 85 for their third wicket and Steven Honeyman weighed in with 38 as the hosts recorded 266 all out, whilst Sher Khan took three wickets for the visitors. In reply, Oughtibridge were 74-5 before Marcus Burley (36) and Khan (63*) rallied them, and they were all out for 213, with Honeyman (4-48) and Clayton (4-59) taking the bowling honours. In fourth place are Hallam, who gained a last gasp with over Thorpe Hesley & High Green at Smithywood Road. Renaldo Brathwaite, with an unbeaten 125 off 128 balls, added 117 for the hosts’ second wicket with Hafeez Ali (52), and helped them to 244-5, James Fletcher taking 3-44 for the visitors. In reply, Arjun Sumanth (61) and keeper Jack Snelling (39) got Hallam off to a good start with an opening stand of 103; 170-1 then became 185-7 as Brathwaite (4-47) and Chris Fisher (4-66) caused some jitters in the Hallam ranks, but twenties from Dan Grantham and Thomas Ollerton saw them home with one wicket and one ball to spare. Parkhead’s 343-6 at home to bottom side Wath 2nds was a real team effort, with half-centuries for Luke Davison (57), Louis Marven (61), keeper Ben Tribick (58) and David Spellman (65 off 37 balls) before Parwan Ali hammered an unbeaten 43 off 21 balls at the end. James Guthrig, Lochlan Gannon and Joe Dickinson all passed thirty in the top order for Wath, for whom skipper Jonathan Plater then added 50, but Luke Davison took 6-43 and they were all out for 210. Sheffield United lost ground on the leading group after losing at home to Hatfield Town. Alec Elliott (52) and Sharafat Hussain (55) added 90 for the visitors’ fifth wicket in their 221-8, Ilyas Mohammed taking 3-59 for the hosts. Aiden Coulbeck then took 5-30 when United replied, and they were all out for 164, Musa Altaf (33) and keeper Aadam Hassan (36) the top-scorers. 
 
Norton Woodseats have extended their lead at the top of Division 3 to 28 points after their latest win, at home to second-to-bottom Thorncliffe & Wentworth. Put in to bat, the visitors made 156-7, with Jack Pearson making 38 and Charlie Schofield an unbeaten 37. In reply, James Eyre (49) and David Armitage (65) put on 115 for the second wicket, enabling their side to record a six-wicket win with 12 overs to spare. There is a hotly-contested fight for the other two promotion places, with Sheffield Collegiate currently occupying second place, after a comprehensive win over Bradfield Village Fellowship at the Sands. Liam Hague (52) and Paul Garnett (53) added 99 for the hosts’ fourth wicket after they had been 11-3, but Rafy Sharpe took 3-21 and Rubaiyat Abrar 4-18 as they were bowled out for 164. Nick Gaywood (68) and Daniel Longley (58*) then put on 110 for the first wicket as the visitors cruised to an eight-wicket win in the 29th over. Cawthorne dropped a place to third after losing to Worsbrough Bridge at the D&I Home Improvements Stadium. Opener Nicholas Lowe made 104 in the visitors’ 193 all out, whilst James Kennedy took 3-40 and Lewis Wilkinson 3-35. Zarmash Tarakhil made 41 at the top of the order for the hosts, but they slipped to 131-7 before skipper Mark Wilkinson, with an unbeaten 57, saw them home by two wickets with nine balls to spare. Fourth-placed Higham also lost ground after a narrow defeat, this against bottom side Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds at Shaw Lane. Put in to bat, the visitors were restricted to 169-8, thanks mainly to Ollie Chapman Scott (3-26) and Callum Bentley (3-28). Gareth Kilburn took 5-48 when the hosts replied, but Freddie Egginton’s patient 54 proved decisive and Barnsley won by one wicket in the 43rd over. Andre Jackson (74), Zabe Javed (58) and Shahrukh Khan (52) helped Caribbean Sports to 272-6 against Norton Oakes at the Common, Reuben Bagger taking three wickets for the visitors. The total was too much for Oakes, and Waqas Mahroof took 4-47 as they were bowled out for 183, despite 48 from opener George Brooks and 41 from Iwan Hutchings. Millhouses Works kept in touch with the leaders win a hard-fought win over Kexborough at Bence Lane. Neil Hinchliffe took 4-38 to help reduce the visitors to 77-7 before skipper Lee Stewart (65*) and John O’Sullivan (40) added 101 for the eighth wicket, and they reached 182-8. In the hosts’ reply, Ulaganathan Sayanthan (43) helped them to reach 125-2, but after he fell to Jon Wynn (5-43) wickets fell regularly, and Kexborough were all out for 170. 
 
Division 4 leaders Rockingham Colliery 2nds were beaten at home by promotion challengers Sprotbrough 2nds after Fraser McLean (38) and Daniel Swales (44) put on 80 for Sprotbrough’s fifth wicket to help them to 155 all out. There were three wickets apiece for Richard Skipworth and Benjamin Shore for the hosts, who were then bowled out for 110 in reply. Nick Graves (5-33) and Joe Toole (3-48) did most of the damage for Sprotbrough, whilst Andy Shore made 34 for Rockingham. Stocksbridge seized the opportunity to draw level at the top with a comfortable win over Sheffield Collegiate 4ths at Abbeydale. Opener Jack Kettlebrough and keeper Matthew Butler both contributed unbeaten 48s for the hosts, sharing in an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 85, whilst there were three wickets for Jake Vickers as they reached 141-4. In reply, Rob Taylor (38) and keeper Andrew Hirst (49*) combined to give the visitors a seven-wicket win in the 39th over. Frecheville Community kept hold of the third promotion spot with a comfortable win over bottom club Silkstone United at the Hobson Bowl. The hosts were 14-3 before Ben Shirt Clarkson (40), Waris Abbas (36) and skipper Adam Buckle (35) helped them reach 190-9, despite Christopher Barraclough’s 3-26 in 12 overs. In reply, Joseph Mosley (49) played a lone hand as the visitors were bowled out for 97, Neil Ramsden taking 3-46. Shiregreen 2nds dented Wombwell Main’s promotion hopes after Muhammad Ali’s unbeaten 111 off 96 balls helped them recover from 77-6 to post 234-9 at Hatfield House Lane. Ali added 98 for the seventh wicket with Liaquat Ali, and Adam Carnall took 4-61 for the visitors. In Wombwell’s reply, Khurram Shahzad (4-21) and Aqeel Ahmad (3-43) reduced them to 54-7 before Carnall (53) mounted a rearguard action that took them to 174 all out. Hallam 3rds are now 17 points adrift of safety and have played a game more than the teams above them after losing to Doncaster Town 3rds at Hill House. James Mountain (41) and Peter Charlesworth (35*) added 71 for the visitors’ sixth wicket to help them recover from 95-5 and reach 177-8, Michael Clark-Linney taking 3-31 for the hosts. In Town’s reply, opener Joe Horrocks made 75, adding 93 with Clark-Linney for the third wicket as they completed a four-wicket win in the 35th over. Upper Haugh 2nds remain second-bottom after losing at home to Conisbrough 2nds. The visitors were all out for 175 after being asked to bat first; opener Toby Humphries (54) and Joe Haigh (34) put on 73 for the second wicket, whilst there were three wickets each for Yousuf Ghani and Muraad Ghani. 
 
Overnight leaders in Division 5, Sheffield University Staff, were beaten by third-placed Maltby Miners Welfare in a low-scoring game at Warminster Road, and have been overtaken at the top of the table. Only opener Bhavika Koliyabandara (33) reached double figures as Liam Woodward (4-28) and Peter Brewster (5.4-3-3-4) bowled the hosts out for 64. Maltby did not find batting easy either, and Chris Stride took 4-20 as they took 37.2 overs to score 65-7. Barnby Dun took over at the top of the table again by completing a comprehensive win over relegation-threatened Darfield 2nds at School Lane. Ismail Moolla (38) top-scored for the hosts in their 184 all out, whilst Ben Salter took 4-41 and Alex Pepper 3-49. Salter then made an unbeaten 90 at the top of the order, adding 121 for the second wicket with Michael Fell (55), as the visitors reached their target in the 43rd over for the loss of only two wickets. Coal Aston 2nds stay level with Maltby after beating Handsworth Junior SC at Stonelow. Opener Zac Trower (90) and Will Platts (50) added 65 for the fourth wicket in the hosts’ 250-8, Waqar Hussain taking 3-49. In the visitors’ reply, Junaid Javed (32) and Mahmood Hussain (34) were in the runs, but Joshua Cross took 3-33 as they were bowled out for 169. Ackworth 2nds kept pace with the leading group with a comfortable win at home to Whiston Parish Church 2nds. Rehan Kiriella (31) and keeper Dave Harris (63) were the chief contributors to the hosts’ 175-8 after they were put in to bat, whist Matt Cope took 4-33 for Whiston. Daniel Levick took 3-17 when the visitors replied, and they were all out for 87, Sudhish Sadhu making 38 of them. Rotherham Town 2nds moved up a place to sixth after a resounding win over bottom side Wickersley Old Village 3rds at Clifton Lane. Muad Rasheed (107 in 105 balls) and Shahid Mohammed (47) put on 132 for the hosts’ fourth wicket in their 238-5, then Shadab Ahmed took 5-31 as the visitors were bowled out for 72 in reply. Fishlake dropped out of the top half after losing to Whiston Forge at Guilthwaite Hill. Kristian Lee Green took 4-48 and Michael Raleigh 3-10 after the visitors were put in to bat, then Lee Green hit an unbeaten 103 off 94 balls, adding 113 for the third wicket with Thomas Scotland (37), as the hosts romped home by seven wickets in the 29th over. On Sunday, Ackworth missed the chance to move into third place when they lost to Handsworth. Daniel Malyan-Walker (35) and Dave Harris (67*) helped Ackworth reach 183-9, whilst Mohmmad Tufail (4-41) and Khamza Hussain (4-41) took the bowling honours. Skipper Monir Choudhury then hit an unbeaten 71 to take his side to a four-wicket win in the 42nd over. 
 
Overnight Division 6 leaders Warmsworth 2nds were beaten at home by Sheffield United 2nds. Mansoor Khaderkhil’s unbeaten 32 at number nine took the visitors from 80-8 to 118 all out, George Horne taking 3-23 for the hosts. In reply, Warmsworth were skittled for 39, Tawqeer Hussain returning 8-4-10-7 and Safiullah Stanikzai 3-23. Hatfield Town 2nds took full advantage of the leaders’ slip, with a comprehensive win over Bradfield Village Fellowship 2nds at Carr Side Lane. Skipper Andy Cutts (79) and keeper Carl Norris (48) compiled a second-wicket partnership of 151, and then Carl Walton (46* off 28 balls) and Adil Sikander (38* off 14) blasted an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 78 at the end, helping their side to 267-5. Alex Brown (5-14) was the destroyer in the second innings, and the visitors were rolled out for 50 in reply. Thirty points behind the leading pair are Millhouses Works 2nds, who lost at home to Caribbean Sports 2nds. Amir Riaz top-scored with 57 for the hosts as they were bowled out for 126, Fasih Khan taking 4-15 and Travis Bacchus 3-57. Sports were 18-4 in reply, but keeper Zain Attique lad a recovery with 37, and the visitors won by two wickets in the 38th over. Penistone 2nds are one of three clubs now joint fourth, where they were joined by Whitley Hall 3rds, who beat them by five wickets at Green Moor. Edward Tofts (5-35) and Rylee Parker (3-14) helped bowl Penistone out for 87, then James Ahmed hit an unbeaten 31 to help Whitley home in 27 overs. Level with these two are Mexborough Athletic, who were put in to bat by Higham 2nds at Royd Lane, and posted 188-9. They were 86-5 before Callum Robinson (43) and Ethan Hughes (39) put on 90 for their sixth wicket, after skipper Elliot Hunt had prevented a complete early collapse with 43. In reply, Curtis Gates made 33 for the hosts, but Brandon Cooke took 7-37 and they were all out for 109. 
 
Division 7 leaders Green Moor returned to winning ways with a comprehensive win at Hooton Pagnell over Upper Haugh 3rds, who dropped a place to fourth as a result. Skipper Harry Airstone (49) and Joe White (110) put on 73 for the visitors’ first wicket as they reached 241-7 after being put in to bat. Airstone then took 5-26 as the hosts were bowled out for 91 in reply. Scholes & Harley moved up a place to third in spite of their defeat to Adwick-le-Street at Adwick Park, by virtue of picking up six bonus points. Put in to bat, the visitors were all out for 179, opener Ian Couldwell top-scoring with 54, whilst Christopher Jeeves took 3-39. The hosts were 71-6 in reply before Carl Newbold came in to hit an unbeaten 50 off 53 balls and see them to a two-wicket win in the 37th over; Tom Wade and Lewis Varley taking three wickets each for Scholes. Keeper Anthony Fieldhouse held Barnsley Woolley Miners 4ths’ top order together with 54 against Norton Oakes 2nds at Oakes Park, but they were 130-7 when acting skipper Steven Dixon came to the crease and hit an unbeaten 56 off 37 balls, putting on 82 for the eighth wicket in partnership with Paul Scattergood, and took them to 212-7. Seasoned opener Peter Holes made 65 when Oakes replied, but Hayden Parker-Wake took 4-23 as they were restricted to 155-7. Savneet Sudan made 46 in relegation-threatened Sprotbrough 3rds’ 98 against Stocksbridge 2nds at Bracken Moor, Les Harris taking 5-38 for the hosts. Stocksbridge did not find batting easy either, losing eight wickets before passing their target in the 36th over, Eric Brown taking 3-16. Sarmad Masood (3-30) and Ahsan Ali Shaikh (3-23) did most of the damage as Houghton Main 2nds bowled Eden Grove Parklands out for 130 at Parklands, opener Keigan Vickerage making 47 for the hosts. In reply, Muhammad Anwar made 44 to help the visitors to a one-wicket win with four overs to spare, despite 4-37 from Simon White and 3-23 from Jake Vickerage. Doncaster Town 4ths conceded their game against Brookhouse. 
 
The top four in Division 8 all won, with leaders Rockingham Colliery 3rds beating Frecheville Community 2nds at Stainborough. Opener Abigail Thorley top-scored for the visitors with 30 out of 111-8, Ryan Whitehouse taking 3-17 for the hosts. Quinn Baker hit 49 at the top of the order for the hosts, who won by six wickets in the 22nd over, Lois Adamson taking 3-42. Second-placed Parkhead 2nds had a thumping win over Wombwell Main 2nds at the I-Source Stadium. Opener Nathaniel Sloane (90), Ian Davis (50) and James Pollard (39*) were amongst the runs for the visitors in their 237-5, whilst Bradley Kerr took 3-50. Hashim Mahroof took 5-15 and Ahmed Arefin 3-19 when Wombwell replied, and they were all out for 63. Barnby Dun 2nds are a distant third, 41 points adrift of the top two, but they kept their outside chances of promotion alive against Kexborough 2nds at Glass Park. Leo McConway-Gee took 3-20 as the visitors were bowled out for 89, then opener Zully Shah made 38 to set up his side’s six-wicket win in the 19th over, Matthew Green taking 3-21 for the visitors. Parrish Pryce-Williams (54) and Narender Manohar (51*) helped Hallam 4ths to 183-6 against Norton Woodseats 2nds at Sandygate. David Andrews (4-29) and Manohar (3-49) then bowled the visitors out for 160, Mohammed Ibrar top-scoring on 46. Worsborough Bridge 2nds recorded a mammoth 288-run win over eight-man Mexborough Athletic 2nds at the Beecroft Estates ground. Opener Ben Parkinson (58) and skipper Darren Newton (64) led the way, with four of their team-mates reaching 30 or more, as the visitors posted 301-5, whilst Owen Brinton took 3-65. Jithin Joseph and Leon Kemp both took 3-5 in five overs when Athletic replied, and they were all out for 13. Andy Taylor hit an unbeaten 61 to take Monk Bretton 2nds from 70-4 and give them something to bowl at with 165-5 after they were put in to bat by Elsecar 3rds at Washfield Lane. In reply, Elsecar skipper Alfie Gibson (53) and Jack Pearson (67) put on 91 for the third wicket to set up their six-wicket win in 30 overs. 
 
Leaders Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds maintained their 30-point lead at the top of Division 9 by beating Wath 3rds at Wentworth. James Shuttleworth (3-14) and Kamran Younis (3-14) helped bowl the visitors out for 106, then opener Sam Burdett, with 45, gave them the foundation of their six-wicket win, whilst Tilly Thomas took all four wickets to fall with 4-13. Second-placed Dearne are now eight points clear of the field after a narrow win over Scholes & Harley 2nds at Scholes. The hosts were indebted to an unbeaten 57 from Matthew Holmes for their 161-5, as he put on an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 61 with Sam Ferris, whilst Robert Houghton took 3-47 for the visitors. Ferris then took 3-25 when Dearne replied, but he could not stop them recording a two-wicket win, thanks to an unbeaten 34 from Scott Hardman at number 10. Emma Wrightson’s 38 was crucial in Silkstone United 2nds two-run win over Eden Grove Parklands 2nds at Barnsley Road. Githin Kurian (5-20) and Dean Somerville (3-27) did most of the damage as the hosts were bowled out for 128, and Euan Graham took 3-22 when Parklands were dismissed for 126, despite 53 from keeper Dennis White at the top of the order. Whiston Forge 2nds conceded to Fishlake 2nds. 
 
Sunday’s cup-ties 
 
Wakefield Thornes were beaten by holders Castleford in the quarter-finals of the K3 Dental Cup at Field Lane. Opener Chesney Hughes (58) and keeper Liam Hyde (92) led the visitors to 228-8, and Thornes were 107-6 in reply before Matty Taylor raised hopes with 52 off 44 balls, but his side were bowled out 27 short with almost five overs left. 
 
In the semi-finals of the Billy Oates Memorial Cup, Thorpe Hesley & High Green 2nds beat Barnby Dun 2nds at Smithywood Road. John Ashton (37) and Dominic Proctor (36) helped the hosts to 199 all out, whilst Jon Harris took 3-21. In reply, opener Leo McConway-Gee made 63 and Jack Pell 38, but the visitors fell ten short on 189-6, Rob Horne taking 3-36. In the final, Thorpe Hesley will meet Upper Haugh 3rds, who overcame a spirited fightback by Hallam 4ths at Wentworth Road. Put in to bat, the visitors were 14-6 then 33-7, before Dan Grantham (49*) and Freddie Scott (37) helped them to reach 138-9. Joe Platts returned figures of 8-5-9-4 for the hosts, and Tom Burns took 3-14. Opener Shaun Cristinacce (40) then provided the foundation for Upper Haughs’ five-wicket win, despite Matt Adams’ 3-29.
