Alderson Drive again hosted the top Premier Division game of the day, but this time it was the visitors, Wakefield Thornes, who came out on top. Dylan Hurst (119 off 66 balls with nine 4s and nine 6s) led the visitors to 346-8, with supporting half-centuries from Uzair Mumtaz and Jawad Akhtar. There were four wickets for Vinnie Ogden, but they came at a cost of 93 runs. In the Tickhill reply, Charlie Bourne took 5-54 and the hosts were all out for 101. Shaaiq Choudhry’s unbeaten 151 off 151 balls led Sheffield Collegiate to 306-5 after they were put in to bat by Shiregreen at Abbeydale, Dan Old weighing in with 54; Choudhry then completed another top all-round performance with 4-22 as the visitors were all out for 132 in reply. An opening stand of 234 between Jaden Fell (100 off 126 balls) and keeper Taylor Fell (135 off 139 balls) set Doncaster Town on their way to 304-8 at Shaw Lane against Barnsley Woolley Miners, for whom Jash Giyanani took 5-66; then Owen Smith hit 147 off 150 balls at the top of the order and the hosts finished on 244-6 to collect four useful losing points. Doncaster, Collegiate and Thornes are already the only teams in the division with 100% records. Champions Cleethorpes recovered from last week’s set-back with a four-wicket win over Whitley Hall at Chichester Road. Matt Cartwright (50) helped the visitors to a decent start and they posted 203-8 after being put in to bat; Harry Warwick’s 71 then gave the hosts their platform for victory, despite Biswick Kapala’s 4-37 for the visitors. Appleby Frodingham also got their campaign up-and-running with a narrow win over Hallam at Crimicar. Having been put in to bat, the hosts reached 182-9, then the visitors overhauled their target by two wickets with 50 from Etienne Du Toit. Cawthorne got their first win of the season too, after Matthew Carroll took 4-33 as they bowled Wickersley Old Village out for 185, after asking them to bat first at Northfield Road; then Syed Azam Shah (74 off 44 balls) led the visitors to victory by seven wickets with 14 overs to spare. 
 
In the game of the day in the Championship Division, a brilliant 122 off 153 balls by skipper Danny Kemp led Whiston Parish Church to 199-7 at home to Sprotbrough; Arman Jaffer then taking 4-45 as the visitors were restricted to 187-8 in reply. Sheffield Collegiate 2nds’ skipper Adam Burkinshaw (53) led a recovery from 18-5 to help his side reach 166 all out away to Ackworth, for whom Dale Longfield took 4-29. Tate Miller then took 4-19 as the hosts were dismissed for 129 in reply. Rory Daburger took 5-26 to help Doncaster Town 2nds bowl Wath out for 102 after asking them to bat first at Town Fields, and he was then unbeaten on 40 when the hosts completed a six-wicket win in the 29th over. Doncaster, Collegiate and Whiston are now the only three unbeaten sides in the division. Elsecar got off the mark in emphatic style after Tanzeel Ali top-scored with 57 in their 199 all out against Aston Hall at Green Lane, and Arsalan Mir then took 5-20 as the hosts were bowled out for 63 in reply. Ibrahim Safi (60) and James Waller (65) put on 107 for the fourth wicket to help Tickhill 2nds to 216-6 against Rockingham Colliery at Hoyland Common, and Mohammad Khan then took 6-34 to help bowl the hosts out for 142. Ikramullah Naseri took 7-17 in 11.4 overs to help Oughtibridge War Memorial bowl Treeton out for 108 at Washfield Lane, skipper Harvey Wootton providing the only real resistance for the hosts with 52; and the visitors then completed an eight-wicket win in 16 overs. 
 
In Division 1, there was a thrilling tied game at Wentworth Road, where Upper Haugh reached 243-6 after being put in to bat by Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds, skipper Tommy Hyde leading the way with an unbeaten 62. Lucas Slatter made 68 when the visitors replied, but they were 153-9 before Rehan Khan and Usman Khan (51 not out) put on 90 for the last wicket; Rehan Khan being run out off the last ball of the innings going for the winning run. Ben Vandrill (76) and Daniel Hemingway (49 not out) led a lower order revival to help Coal Aston to 236-8 against Conisbrough at Stonelow, Nathan Chadburn taking 4-55 for the visitors; Hemingway then completed a fine all-round performance with 5-55 as Conisbrough were bowled out for 174 in reply, Buddhika Bopitiyage top-scoring with 55. Yousaf Rehman’s unbeaten 54 helped Houghton Main to 199 all out against Monk Bretton at the Castle Ground, then Renaldo Brathwaite (4-28) bowled the visitors to a 37-run win. Darfield continued their impressive start to the season with a 109-run win over Warmsworth. Jabari Mills (134 off 121 balls) put on 106 for the fourth wicket with skipper Joe Stickland as the visitors reached 269-8, then Stickland took 4-35 as the hosts were bowled out for 160 in reply. Keeper Lewis Wroe (62) and Alex Littlewood (78) put on 122 for the 2nd wicket in Whitley Hall 2nds’ 287-5 against Penistone at Baxter Field. Chris Matthewman (58) top-scored for the visitors, but they were all out for 218 in reply. 
 
 
In Division 2, Frickley Colliery continued their winning start to life in the YCSPL with a four-wicket win over Oughtibridge War Memorial 2nds at Waterside Gardens, after they had put the hosts in to bat and restricted them to 163-6. Norton Woodseats also continued their good start to the season, with a very convincing win over fellow promoted side Millhouses Works at Millhouses Park. After the visitors were put in to bat and restricted to 163-9, David Armitage then took 4-10 when Millhouses were bowled out for 67 in reply. James Chetwood (5-37) and Jonathan Freeman (4-27) bowled Thorpe Hesley & High Green out for 70 and Hallam 2nds then claimed a seven-wicket win in the 13th over. Edward Fowles took 9-34 in 11.3 overs to help Wakefield Thornes 2nds bowl Aston Hall 2nds out for 63 at Field Lane; and they claimed their first win of the season, by nine wickets in the 14th over. Oliver Harrison’s 58 was the mainstay of Parkhead’s 179 all out against Cawthorne 2nds at Dark Lane, whilst Ryan Gibson took 4-28 for the hosts, then there were four wickets each for Chris Turner and Thomas Roberts as Cawthorne were dismissed for 151 in reply. Shahrukh Khan took 4-17 to help Sheffield United bowl Elsecar 2nds out for 130 at the Al-Murad Stadium, but George Dixon then took 4-19 as the visitors were bowled out for 92 in reply. 
 
Rockingham Colliery 2nds had to work hard to maintain their winning start to life in Division 3. James Shepherd took 4-18 as Bradfield Village Fellowship bowled them out for 107 at the Sands, but Peter Lomas gave the visitors the last word with 4-18 and Bradfield were all out for 98 in reply. There was a tight finish at the Hobson Bowl, where visitors Treeton 2nds put Frecheville Community in to bat and bowled them out for 124; but the visitors found batting difficult too, with Neil Ramsden taking 7-50, and it took number seven Ryan Hardy to get them home with an unbeaten 37. Daniel Longley (56) and Matthew Taylor (54) led Sheffield Collegiate 3rds to 213-8 against Higham at Rose Lane, then Ben Fielding (4-22) helped them restrict their hosts to 121-6 in reply, and claim their second win of the season. Hatfield Town also maintained their winning start, Luke Cockburn (89 not out) and skipper Alex Pepper (90) putting on 149 for the fourth wicket in their 258-6 against Shiregreen 2nds at Hatfield House Lane, then Aiden Coulbeck took 4-26 to help the visitors to a 139-run win. Luke Roddison (75) and James Barnard (75 not out) helped Wath 2nds to 240-4 at home to Sheffield Caribbean, then the experienced Mark Wilson took 5-18 as the hosts claimed a 163-run win. Ted Hutchings (99) and Daniel Baldwin (55) put on 124 for the first wicket to give Norton Oakes a platform for their 251 all out against Worsbrough Bridge at Park Road, before Joshua Cross took 5-38 to help them to a 93-run win. 
 
Only Sprotbrough 2nds and Wombwell Main have both won their opening two games in Division 4; Louis Richardson (75) and Robbie Graves (100 off 88 balls) propelled Sprotbrough 2nds to 241 all out against Doncaster Town 3rds at Melton Road, despite Max Garbutt’s 5-47 for the visitors; then Nick Graves took 5-27, including the key wicket of Alfie Peirson (87), as the visitors were all out for 170 in reply. Tom Peck took 4-38 for Wombwell Main when they bowled Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rds out for 102 at Windmill Road, then Jonathan Scaife’s unbeaten 61 took the hosts to a six-wicket win. Barnby Dun restricted Thorncliffe & Wentworth to 176-9 at Glass Park, then Shaun Fell (66 not out) and Sam Connick (76) put on 130 for the fifth wicket to help the hosts open their season’s account with a five-wicket win. Jack Firth (64) and Richard Burgess (59) helped Kexborough to 205-6 against Sheffield University Staff at Bence Lane, before Waqas Tanveer’s 72 off 57 balls enabled the visitors to post their first win in the division, by three wickets. Matthew Price (59) and Rob Taylor (101) put on 169 for the second wicket in Stocksbridge’s 218-7 at Bracken Moor, and they then bowled Coal Aston 2nds out for 148, despite 70 from visiting skipper Eliot Tye. 
 
In Division 5, wins for Ackworth 2nds, by six wickets over Conisbrough 2nds; Hatfield Town 2nds, for whom Ian Lloyd made 83 in their 86-run win over Fishlake; and Warmsworth 2nds, for whom Martin Spaven (83) and Mark Mullen (65 not out) put on 149 for their fifth wicket to rescue them from 27-4 and set up a 39-run win over Penistone 2nds, mean that all three have two wins from two at the top of the division. Elsewhere, Chris Brownlee took 5-29 for Hallam 3rds but could not prevent their seven-run defeat to Whiston Parish Church 2nds, and Maltby Miners Welfare opened their account for the season with a seven-run win at home to Whiston Forge
 
Green Moor opened their Division 6 account with a convincing 125-run win over fellow promoted side Scholes & Harley, Scott Jones (89) and Satvir Singh (91) putting on 176 for the hosts’ third wicket in their 280-6; Waverley won their second game in the League, by 18 runs against Millhouses Works 2nds, for whom Jon Wynn took 5-22 in vain; Alex Sunderland took 6-38 for Thorpe Hesley & High Green 2nds to help them set up a two wicket win over Handsworth Junior SC, and they are also two from two; as are Wickersley Old Village 3rds, for whom Robert Jones hit an unbeaten 89 and Owen Taylor took 5-33 to help them beat Darfield 2nds by 89 runs. Mexborough Athletic won the first YCSPL game at Wadworth by 108 runs; and Whitley Hall 3rds beat Sheffield Caribbean 2nds by 34 runs. 
 
In Division 7, Upper Haugh 3rds made it two wins from two games with a three-wicket win over Rockingham Colliery 3rds at Stainborough; also with two wins are Doncaster Town 4ths, who beat Adwick-le-Street by 57 runs. David Spilman made 80 in Parkhead 2nds’ 204-5 when they beat Stocksbridge 2nds by 82 runs; Isaac Wilkes (5-38) and Ishaq Shenwari (67 not out) combined to give Barnsley Woolley Miners 4ths a three-wicket win over Bradfield Village Fellowship 2nds at Woolley; and Brookhouse beat Higham 2nds by six wickets; 
 
Four clubs have won both games so far in Division 8; Saqib Shah (72 not out) top-scored in Norton Woodseats 2nds’ crushing 162-run win over Barnby Dun 2nds; Ben Whitehouse was unbeaten on 69 when Dearne completed an eight-wicket win over Norton Oakes 2nds; Jas Singh made 89 in Hallam 3rds’ 193-5 when they beat Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds by 43 runs; and Monk Bretton 2nds enjoyed a 34-run win over Eden Grove Parklands. Elsewhere, Sprotbrough 3rds beat Kexborough 2nds by three wickets and Houghton Main 2nds beat Wombwell Main 2nds by 24 runs. 
 
A league record was broken in Division 9, when Simon Sverdloff (54 not out) and Mark Newbould (181 off 98 balls) put on 248 for Scholes & Harley 2nds’ fourth wicket, to take them from 26-3 to 272-4 against Eden Grove Parklands 2nds at Scholes. Parklands were then bowled out for 100 in reply. After their game was conceded by their opponents last week, Frickley Colliery 2nds made a winning start by beating Waverley 2nds by three wickets; Elsecar 3rds made it two from two by beating Mexborough Athletic 2nds by 32 runs at the Beecroft Estates Ground; as did Worsbrough Bridge 2nds, for whom Clayton Taylor made an unbeaten 88 as they posted 248-8 against Oughtibridge War Memorial 3rds at Wentworth, and they went on to complete a 153-run win. Elsewhere, Fishlake 2nds beat Wath 3rds by six wickets; and Silkstone United 2nds beat Whiston Forge 2nds by four wickets in a low-scoring game at Guilthwaite Hill. 
 
On Sunday, there were six games in the first round of the Billy Oates Memorial Cup. Mrinmoy Borgohain finished with 4-1-7-6 for Eden Grove Parklands as they bowled Wath 3rds out for 75, and won by four wickets; skipper Mark Lockwood made 81 in Doncaster Town 4ths’ 204-4 as they beat Monk Bretton 2nds by 80 runs; an unbeaten 68 from Tom Collis saw Frickley Colliery 2nds to a five-wicket win over Parkhead 2nds; Simon Grindle took 5-20 to help Rockingham Colliery 3rds beat Wadworth by 41 runs; and Martin Jowitt-Pickering took four wickets for one run in Wombwell Main 2nds’ seven-wicket win over Stocksbridge 2nds. Elsewhere, Upper Haugh 3rds beat Elsecar 3rds by eight wickets.
