President’s Trophy final
Congratulations to Hatfield Town CC, who won the President’s Trophy at Treeton, beating Sprotbrough 2nds in a well-fought excellent encounter by 19 runs.
Hatfield Town elected to bat first and thirties from Paul Davies, Joseph Dixon and Wiqas Sikander helped them to total 155-8, whilst Nick Graves, with 2-18 in his eight overs, and Scott Mantovani (2-20 in eight) were the pick of the Sprotbrough attack.
Sprotbrough were soon in trouble in reply, three quick wickets from Wiqis Sikander reducing them 50-6, but player-of-the-match Louis Richardson, who came in to face the second ball of the first over, played an excellent innings to keep Sprotbrough in the game, and he was last out for 86 when the score was 136.
Our thanks go to Treeton CC, who did an excellent job of staging the day.
