The top clubs in the Premier Division all won on Saturday, and there is now an 18-point gap between them and the rest. James Rhodes (81) dominated the first part of leaders Wakefield Thornes’ innings at home to Doncaster Town, then skipper Matt Taylor (56 not out) and Brad Green, with an unbeaten 43 off 18 balls, took them to 258-5. Taylor then followed up with three wickets when they dismissed their visitors for 156 in reply. Second-placed Sheffield Collegiate restricted Barnsley Woolley Miners to 178-8 at Abbeydale, then cantered to an eight-wicket win, with Shaaiq Choudhry unbeaten on 66. Mayank Mishra (4-26) and Harry Clewett (4-19) combined to bowl bottom side Wickersley Old Village out for 104 at Chichester Road; but Cleethorpes lost five wickets before knocking off the necessary runs in the 29th over. Muhammad Ashraf took 4-46 to help Whitley Hall bowl hitherto in-form Appleby Frodingham out for 160 at Baxter Field, and the hosts completed a six-wicket win in the 34th over, Neil Longhurst top-scoring with 60. Liam Wiles (58) was the main contributor to Cawthorne’s 200-8 against lowly Shiregreen at Hatfield House Lane; then Muhammad Khan (92 not out) led the visitors to a two-wicket win with seven balls to spare. Bilal Anjam (75) top-scored in Tickhill’s 236-7 against relegation-threatened Hallam at the Brookfield Oval; Andre Bradford made 69 when the visitors replied, but at the close they were 21 short on 215-8. 12 points now cover the bottom four, and they are 38 points adrift of eighth-placed Appleby Frodingham. 
 
The top two sides in the Championship Division both lost, and 12 points now separate the top three. Rory Daburger (59 not out) top-scored in Doncaster Town 2nds’ 202-4 at home to relegation-threatened Treeton, then Matt Lambert (69) and veteran Steve Foster put on 120 for the visitors’ first wicket, and despite Daburger claiming three late wickets, Treeton gained an invaluable three-wicket win with eight balls left. Second-placed Whiston Parish Church and Rockingham Colliery played out a low-scoring thriller sat Church Fields. Lasith Lakshan (4-38) and Paul Cummins (4-31) combined to bowl the hosts out for 112, then opener Ben Dalton (55 not out) steered his side to a one-wicket win, despite the efforts of Arman Jaffer (4-39) and Joe Norbury (5-31). Parteek Khasa made 57 in Sprotbrough’s 181 all out at Melton Road; then in reply Sheffield Collegiate 2nds were 65-4, before Greg Mann put them on top with 58, and at 149-5 they looked the likely winners. Four wickets for Nick Graves (5-42) then changed the complexion of the game and the visitors finished six runs short on 175-9, Khasa following up his half-century with 4-52. Ackworth kept themselves in contention with a 56-run win over Aston Hall at Green Lane. Joshua Hen-Boisen made 62 in the visitors’ 251-8, Henry Renshaw taking 4-56; then Luke Townsend took 4-43 as the hosts were bowled out for 195 in reply. An unbeaten 64 from Arsalan Mir was the highlight of Elsecar’s 268-7 at home to Oughtibridge War Memorial; Salman Iqbal then taking 5-31 to help bowl the visitors out for 149 in reply. Manavkumar Dave took 4-22 when Tickhill 2nds bowled bottom side Wath out for 163 at Moor Road; Dave then followed up with 52 in the visitors’ four-wicket win. 
 
Division 1 leaders Upper Haugh bowled Warmsworth out for 123 at Barnsley Road. After the visitors had got off to a good start, with Nathan Swift and Lewis Mallinson putting on 70 for the first wicket, Shawn Hopkins (5-39) and Parvez Asghar (5-31) caused a collapse. The hosts themselves were 58-4 in reply, but Connor Sanderson (61 off 39 balls) took them to within sight of victory, and they duly completed their four-wicket win in just the 18th over. Houghton Main were 79-6 at home to second-placed Darfield before Renaldo Barathwaite (40) and Danish Hussain (55) put on 72 for the seventh wicket and lifted them to 166 all out. Opener Syed Shah (72 not out) then led the visitors to a seven-wicket win in the 40th over. Opener Dave Rodgers and Harry Simpson both made 74 in Coal Aston’s 301-9 against Monk Bretton at the Castle Ground, Ryan Howarth claiming four wickets for the hosts. Michael Hunter then took 7-49 and Monk Bretton were all out for 115 in reply. Zeeshan Karamat took 4-40 to help Conisbrough bowl Wickersley Old Village 2nds out for 131 at Northfield Lane, and the visitors went on to complete a four-wicket win in the 34th over. The bottom two teams, Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds and Penistone met at Shaw Lane, where Lewis Bray took 4-52 to put the brake on after the visitors had been 119-2, and they were all out for 184, Anthony Godley making 53. Chris Walmsley then took 5-38 to keep his side very much in the game, and Barnsley edged home by one wicket with four overs left, Alfie Gosney making 45. 
 
Lewis Binns (55) and Jack Danks (89) were the top scorers for Division 2 leaders Frickley Colliery in their 280-8 at home to Aston Hall 2nds. Matt Pinder then took 5-42 when the visitors replied, and they were all out for 128, maintaining Frickley’s 30-point lead at the top. Opener Kade Fletcher (74) and skipper Liam Wiles (48 not out) were the top scorers in second-placed Cawthorne 2nds’ 207 all out against Millhouses Works at Dark Lane. In reply, the visitors were 13-5, with three early wickets for Ryan Gibson (5-52); then George Henderson gave them hope with 93, and they rallied to 163-6 before the last four wickets fell for 21. Jonathan Freeman took 4-50 to help Hallam 2nds bowl Norton Woodseats out for 144 at Crimicar. Richard Perkins (53) and Will Newton (60) then put on 120 for the hosts’ first wicket to set up an eight-wicket win that keeps them in third place, just four points behind Cawthorne. Rasheed Eddy made 85 at a run-a-ball to help relegation-threatened Thorpe Hesley & High Green to 209 all out at home to Wakefield Thornes 2nds. In the visitors' reply, opener Harley Cushan made 55, and with twenties and thirties down the order, Thornes sealed a five-wicket win that keeps them in touch with the leading group. Arslan Tariq took 4-56 for bottom side Sheffield United when they bowled Parkhead out for 211, after Harrison Vinall and Harry Pollard had put on 80 for the first wicket at Ecclesall Road. But when the visitors replied, Marcus Adley (4-13) took the first four wickets with only 28 on the board; the visitors never recovered, and were all out for 82. Skipper Oliver Cockbill-Black made 52 to rescue Oughtibridge War Memorial 2nds from 29-4, but they were restricted to 165-9 by Elsecar 2nds, for whom Shaun Pedler took 4-39. The second-bottom side made their visitors fight all the way, Zayan Khan taking 5-70, but Elsecar gained a two-wicket win in the 39th over. 
 
There was a convincing win for Division 3 leaders Norton Oakes when they bowled Rockingham Colliery 2nds out for 111 at Hoyland Common, Callum East taking 5-17 and Daniel Baldwin recording 9.2-4-8-4. Baldwin was then unbeaten on 63 when Oakes completed their eight-wicket win. Skipper David Barrett (57) and Luke Cockburn (67 not out) helped second-placed Hatfield Town to 241-5 against relegation-threatened Treeton 2nds at Washfield Lane. Aiden Coulbeck then took 6-25 and the hosts were all out for 122 in reply. Sheffield Collegiate 3rds maintained their hold on the third promotion place when they made 253-7 against Sheffield Caribbean at Abbeydale, and then contained their visitors to 160-7 in reply. Opener Naeem Bashir’s 130 was the backbone of the Shiregreen 2nds’ innings against Bradfield Village Fellowship at the Sands, Akhtarzaman Khan weighing in with an unbeaten 69 off 33 balls in their 288-7. Mohammed Sufyan then took 4-23 to help Shiregreen bowl their hosts out for 137, and they are now 20 points outside the promotion places with a game in hand. Janith Yasitha took 4-48 to help Frecheville Community restrict Wath 2nds to 154-7 at the Hobson Bowl, and Louis Fairest made 62 to help them keep their slim promotion hopes alive with a six-wicket win. 
 
Division 4 leaders Sprotbrough 2nds lost their unbeaten record in a close game at Bence Lane. Andrew Moore (5-45) was the match-winner after Kexborough had made 165 all out, taking the first three wickets with just 37 on the board, to put his side on top. Eric Brown and Robert Edmundson threatened to win it for the visitors with a last wicket stand of 50, but they were all out nine runs short. Opener Sabeethan Kanagasingham (48) set Sheffield University Staff on their way to 198 all out at home to Upper Haugh 2nds, then Siddharth Patwardhan took 5-50 as the visitors were bowled out for 135 in reply, and the Staff move up into second place. Coal Aston 2nds had a narrow win over Doncaster Town 3rds at Stonelow, and are now level with Kexborough in third. Daniel Hemingway (48) top-scored in the hosts 211-8, Archie Pierson taking 4-49 for the visitors; then Jack Zuurbier (66) and Joe Woodiwiss (52) got Town off to a great start in reply with an opening stand of 96, but once they were parted, wickets started to tumble and they were all out for 206 in reply. Rowan Cogger took 6-42 to help Stocksbridge bowl relegation-threatened Barnby Dun out for 152 at Bracken Moor, then opener Rob Taylor (54 not out) saw the hosts to a six-wicket win. The bottom two met at the I-Source Stadium, where Kev Linney (58) and Jonathan Scaife (97) put on 109 for the second wicket in Wombwell Main’s 252 all out, Nick Gaywood taking 5-52 for visitors Sheffield Collegiate 4ths. Aarav Singh made 78 at the top of the order in the visitors’ reply, but they were behind the clock when Charlie Wall and Gaywood came together in an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 86, and although the two seasoned campaigners applied some acceleration, they ended up just one run short on 251-5. 
 
With leaders Ackworth 2nds not in action in Division 5, Whiston Forge missed the opportunity to narrow the gap at the top to two points, after losing to Fishlake at Pinfold Lane. The hosts posted 176-8, but Forge never recovered from being 15-4 in reply, James Yeaman taking three early wickets, and although Daniel Rose made an unbeaten 50, they were all out for 129 to give the hosts hope in their relegation battle. Chris Barraclough (13-9-11-5) and Emilia Rossi (4-40) combined to bowl Hatfield Town 2nds out for 69 at Carr Side Lane, but then Silkstone United struggled against Adil Sikander (6-29), and only a determined unbeaten 34 from Joseph Mosley helped the visitors to a one-wicket win, thus keeping alive their promotion hopes. Liam Parker (48) and Liam Woodward (48) helped Maltby Miners Welfare to 203-7 against second-bottom Penistone 2nds at Queen Street, then Gary Porter took 4-19 to help bowl the hosts out for 108, and Maltby into fourth place. Shabaz Qadeer (83 not out) was the main contributor to Whiston Parish Church 2nds’ 190-6 away to Warmsworth 2nds, then Owen Struggles took 5-42 to help bowl the hosts out for 117 in reply. Tom Humphries took 5-28 when Conisbrough 2nds bowled Hallam 3rds out for 128 at Park Road; and then he completed a top all-round performance with an unbeaten 105 off 51 balls when his side completed an eight-wicket win in 18 overs. 
 
Division 6 leaders Waverley are now the only unbeaten team in the YCSPL this season, and on Saturday they made it 14 wins when they beat Handsworth Junior SC at Totley. Reon Jerome’s 68 lifted the hosts from 84-5 to reach 204-9, then six bowlers took wickets as the visitors were all out for 175 in reply. Thorpe Hesley & High Green 2nds consolidated their second place with a big win over Wickersley Old Village 3rds at Brookhouse. Iain MacDonald’s 77 was the backbone of their 230-8, and there were four wickets each for Alex Sunderland (4-36) and Rob Horne (4-5) when the hosts were bowled out for 78 in reply. Millhouses Works 2nds lost ground on the top two when they were beaten at home by Scholes & Harley, who bowled them out for 131, then Mark Newbould hit 72 off 36 balls as the visitors raced to a nine-wicket win in the 20th over. Green Moor missed the chance to close the gap on Millhouses when they were beaten by Sheffield Caribbean 2nds in a low-scoring tussle at the Common. James Christopherson took 4-34 when they bowled their hosts out for 84, but Green Moor were then bowled out for 72 in reply. Gareth Hobson took 7-17 to help Wadworth bowl bottom side Darfield 2nds out for 86, then Dave Spencer and Addisdon Senior knocked off the required runs without loss in 14 overs. Josh Singleton made 106 off 80 balls for Whitley Hall 3rds in their 215 all out against Mexborough Athletic, for whom Sarmad Masood took 5-45. Skipper Lee Jeffries made 73 at the top of the order for Athletic, but Tom Staniland took 6-58 and they were all out for 194 in reply. 
 
Sheffield United 2nds maintained their 12-point lead at the top of Division 7 with a five-wicket win at home to Parkhead 2nds, who were all out for 113 after being put in to bat. Shaheen Momand (50) then led United to victory. Second-placed Adwick-le-Street were all out for 135 at home to Stocksbridge 2nds, but James Sturman took 7-15 the hosts as Stocksbridge were all out for 73 in reply. An unbeaten 47 from Oliver Wilkes took Barnsley Woolley Miners 4ths to 137-6 against Rockingham Colliery 3rds, who made a poor start in reply, but rallied through Ryan Whitehouse and Manvir Kang, and edged home by one wicket off the last ball. Adam Bryant (4-37) and Jasneet Gulati (4-25) helped Brookhouse bowl Doncaster Town 4ths out for 138 at Blaxton, after forties from Harry Leach and Michael Clarke-Linney had taken the hosts to 103-2. Gulati then won the match for Brookhouse with an unbeaten 63, and they had four wickets and 22 overs in hand when they reached their target. Kamran Khayer (5-16) and Samuel Langstaff helped Upper Haugh 3rds bowl Higham 2nds out for 165 at Hooton Pagnell, but the hosts were all out for 149 in reply, Alistair Cooper tasking 4-44. On Sunday, Higham 2nds made it a very successful weekend when they bowled Handsworth Junior SC 2nds out for 125 and then beat them by six wickets. Robert McInerney took 5-27 and Junaid Javaid made 50 in the Handsworth innings; then Higham were 53-3 in reply when Anthony white (50 not out) and Steve Vickers (48 not out off 27 balls) came together in an unbroken fourth-wicket stand to take them past their target with 14 overs to spare. 
 
Wombwell Main 2nds have taken over at the top of Division 8, taking advantage of a slip-up by Houghton Main 2nds away to Norton Woodseats 2nds, by winning at Sandygate against Hallam 4ths. Hallam were all out for 126, with opener Keith Ring making 62, and Wombwell gained a seven-wicket win, despite David Andrews’ 5-28. Houghton Main were all out for 115 at Matthews Lane, then an unbeaten 48 from Rahimullah Khil took Woodseats to a five-wicket win. Norton Oakes 2nds are third, just four points behind the leaders, after a three-wicket win away to Eden Grove Parklands. Daniel Morton made 83 in Parklands’ 190-6, then John Bagley’s 49 set Oakes on their way to victory. Reece Marsh made 70 out of Sprotbrough 2nds’ 175 all out, Hummad Younis (4-14) and Josh Shillito (4-20) amongst the wickets for hosts Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds. Shillito (55) and Jacob Moorhouse (51) then rescued Thorncliffe from 21-5 with a sixth-wicket stand of 110, to earn them a two-wicket win in the last over; Dan Clark taking 4-29 for the visitors. Kexborough 2nds were all out for 119 away to Dearne, but then Thomas Woods took 5-27 to help them bowl their hosts out for 63 in reply. Barnby Dun 2nds conceded to Monk Bretton 2nds
 
Leaders Frickley Colliery 2nds bowled Mexborough Athletic 2nds out for 80 in Division 9, and Owen Mitchell’s unbeaten 40 then guided them to a six-wicket win. Both Frickley’s nearest challengers, Waverley 2nds and Worsbrough Bridge 2nds profited by the opposition, Silkstone United 2nds and Wath 3rds, conceding. Fourth-placed Sheffield University Staff 2nds made 223-8 against Oughtibridge War Memorial 3rds, with opener Umesh Mandal making 52 and Jay Womack taking 4-59. Chris Stride then took 4-29 when Oughtibridge were all out for 171 in reply, Ashley Statham top-scoring with 57. Freddie Rowbottom took 5-23 to help fifth-placed Elsecar 3rds bowl Eden Grove Parklands 2nds out for 90 at Parklands, and the visitors then claimed a comfortable seven-wicket win. Whiston Forge 2nds moved above Frecheville Community 2nds into sixth place, after posting 173-6 at Guilthwaite Hill, then restricting their visitors to 145-6. An unbeaten 62 from Kai Brown helped Scholes & Harley 2nds overhaul Fishlake 2nds’ 163-8 by two wickets. 
 
 
On Sunday, Doncaster Town went out of the ECB Vitality Club T20 Blast in the Area final, losing to Hucknall of the Nottinghamshire League by 40 runs. Earlier, Town beat Lindum of the Lincolnshire League by seven wickets in the area semi-final. In the ECB Vitality Club T20 Plate last 16, Sprotbrough lost by eight runs to Farnsfield of the Bassetlaw League. 
 
In the semi-finals of the President’s Trophy, skipper David Barrett made 64 out of Hatfield Town’s 202-8 against Stocksbridge, who were 173-7 in reply. Sprotbrough 2nds restricted Sheffield Collegiate 3rds to 112-9 at Abbeydale, then an eighth-wicket stand of 54 between Adam Kaye and Harvey Thomas rescued the visitors from 58-7 in reply, and they gained a two-wicket win in the last over.
