On a day with damp pitches and overcast conditions, bowlers dominated in many games. Tickhill overcame a fight-back by Whitley Hall at Alderson Drive to remain two points clear at the top of the Premier Division table. Put in to bat, the visitors were 67-6 before Matthew Thompson (49) and skipper James Brown (41) helped them reach 169 all out. Rhett Bridgens took 5-60 for the hosts, for whom opener Harry Swindells (86*) and Minod Bhanuka (46) put on 75 for the second wicket in reply, enabling Tickhill to reach their target for the loss of three wickets in the 36th over. Danish Aziz made 110 off 109 balls for Cawthorne when they were all out for 182 after being put in to bat at home to Cleethorpes, for whom Mayank Mishra took 4-48. Cleethorpes lost their first four wickets for 41 in reply, but Mishra (34) and Harry Clewett started a recovery that took them up to 165-6. Aamir Shahzad (3-46) then took three wickets to produce a nervy finish, but the visitors edged home by one wicket in the 47th over. Wakefield Thornes were struggling at 123-7 after being put in to bat at home to bottom club Elsecar, before Matty Taylor (34) and Osama Ahmad (33*) lifted them to 198-9. Oliver Blackburn took 4-55 and Haider Jahangir 3-34 for the visitors, who then lost half their side for 37 in their reply. Skipper Bilal Anjam (43) then gave Elsecar some hope, but Osama, Taylor and Freddie Egleston took three wickets each and they were all out for 125. Jamie Carrington (3-29) and Mat Roberts (3-10) helped Sheffield Collegiate bowl Treeton out for 92 after they put them in to bat at Abbeydale. Roberts then hit 44 off 47 balls as the hosts completed a six-wicket win in the 23rd over. In a 22-over game at Brumby Hall, James Dobson took 4-33 and George Cowan 3-10 as Doncaster Town bowled Appleby Frodingham out for 78. With Paul Hilton then taking 4-15, the visitors were made to work for their win, but they passed their target for the loss of five wickets in the 19th over. Oliver Jackson took 5-20 after Barnsley Woolley Miners asked Shiregreen to bat first at Shaw Lane, and the visitors were all out for 98. Seeking a revised target of 96 in 46 overs, the hosts were 33-5 in reply before Ali Jahangir steered them home by five wickets with an unbeaten 44. 
 
Dylan Smythe took 4-26 to help Championship Division leaders Wickersley Old Village bowl Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds out for 101, after asking them to bat first at Northfield Lane. Hamzah Younis then made an unbeaten 39 as the hosts passed their target for the loss of four wickets in the 21st over, and they now lead the division by 16 points. Wath pulled themselves out of the bottom two and dented Ackworth’s championship hopes when they beat them by three runs at Moor Road. Put in to bat, Wath were all out for 124, Shinghi Masakadza taking 5-54 and Luke Townsend 4-12, whilst Patrick Selkirk made a crucial 32 in the middle order for Wath. In reply, Mohammad Khan made 43 at the top of the order for Ackworth, but from 79-2 they slumped to 121 all out, Shawn Hopkins taking 3-20. Hallam are now only four points behind Ackworth after claiming a third consecutive win, over Aston Hall at Crimicar. Jay Singh took 6-32 after the visitors were asked to bat first, and they were all out for 176, opener Mark Barnard (41) and Nazakat Khan (32) their top scorers. Alex Hughes (52) and Nick Dymock (97) then put on 148 for Hallam’s first wicket, and they strolled to an eight-wicket win in the 37th over. Houghton Main made 236 all out against fourth-placed Whiston Parish Church after being put in to bat at Church Fields. Opener Zaki Anjam (57) and Danish Hussain (55 off 33 balls) top-scored for the visitors, and last man Joseph Hiles hit 31 off 16 balls , whilst Kazim Hussain took 6-59 for the hosts. Whiston were 14-3 in reply, but Arman Jaffer made a brilliant unbeaten 153 off 132 balls (12 fours and 6 sixes), sharing stands of 84 for the fourth wicket with Harrison Struggles and an unbroken 84 for the seventh with Kazim Hussain, and the hosts won with four wickets and three overs to spare. Sheffield Collegiate 2nds held on to fifth place despite falling to defeat against Doncaster Town 2nds at the Eco Power Oval. Skipper Warren Graca took 6-31 as the visitors were restricted to 146-9 after being asked to bat first, Dan Old top scoring with 45 at the top of the order. Town slipped to 73-7 in reply, but the crucial stand was that of 72 for the eighth wicket between Oscar Harris 67 and Grace (37*), and the hosts edged home by two wickets off the last ball of their 50 overs. At Melton Road, Sprotbrough were asked to bat first by Rockingham Colliery, and reached 205-8 thanks largely to Akhil Akhil and George Thompson, who both made 51, the latter unbeaten. Johnson Marumisa and Lasith Lakshan took three wickets each for the visitors, who were held to 145-9 in their reply, Akhil taking 5-14 in 15 overs in an excellent all-round effort. 
 
Leaders Oughtibridge War Memorial had a fine win over fellow Division 1 promotion contenders Warmsworth at Waterside Gardens. Dilshan Sukumar (4-32) and Richard Marsden (3-50) had the visitors in trouble at 51-5 before Ryan Pearson (30) and Limar Pierce (42) helped them to 155 all out. In reply, Michael Brown (33) and Hasaru Chaamikara (88*) put on 102 for the hosts’ second wicket as they eased home with eight wickets to spare in the 39th over. Darfield and Conisbrough remain neck-and-neck in joint second place after both won their games. Lewis Sansome (34) and keeper Jabari Mills (75 off 61 balls) put on 102 for Darfield’s fourth wicket in their 205 all out after they were put in to bat by Elsecar 2nds at the Al-Murad Stadium, whilst Daniel Laister took 5-42 for the hosts. In their reply, thirties from Brett Hunsley and skipper Richard Stump could not save Elsecar from defeat; Saman Kursheed taking 6-50 as they were bowled out for 150. Buddhika Bopitiyaga took 7-31 when Conisbrough put Wakefield Thornes 2nds in to bat at Park Lane and bowled them out for 93. The hosts were then 39-6 when Bopitiyaga came to the crease, and his unbeaten 36 saw them to a three wicket win in the 24th over, whilst Edward Fowles took 5-30 for Thornes. Rotherham Town lost ground on the leaders when they fell to defeat against Whitley Hall 2nds at Baxter Field. Alex Littlewood made 104, receiving good support from opener Chris Siddall (49) and Sam Woodcock (42), as the hosts reached 261-7 after being put in to bat, Anees Hussain taking three wickets for the visitors. Woodcock then took 4-73 and Jack Myers 3-34 as Rotherham were bowled out for 213 in reply, skipper Hussnain Hussain (62) top-scoring for the visitors. Aston Hall 2nds bowled Tickhill 2nds out for 107 after asking them to bat first at Green Lane, Zayn Wasim taking 4-17 and Mohammad Khan making 39 for the visitors. Charlie Taylor’s unbeaten 58 was then largely responsible for taking the hosts to a two-wicket win in reply. Wickersley Old Village 2nds put Upper Haugh in to bat and bowled them out for 130 at Wentworth Road, skipper Jonathan Allen (4-67) and Adam Whitford (4-34) doing most of the damage for the visitors, whilst there were thirties from opener Alfie Spurr and skipper Tommy Hyde for the hosts. Habil Arshad and Parvez Asghar each took three wickets as Wickersley slipped to 60-6 in reply, but Liam Heathcote (39) took them to within sight of victory, and they got home by two wickets with five overs left. 
 
Penistone took advantage of Division 2 leaders Coal Aston’s day off and narrowed the gap at the top to 28 points by beating Parkhead at Queen Street. Chris Matthewman made 30 for the hosts when they were put in to bat and bowled out for 127, Luke Davison (4-31) and Chris Turner (3-20) doing most damage for the visitors. Jack Meek then took 6-21 as Parkhead were bowled out for 92 in reply. Monk Bretton held on to the third promotion spot after beating Hatfield Town at the Castle Ground. Keeper Paul Davis made 43 at the top of the order for the visitors and there were thirties lower down the order from Sharafat Hussain and Kevin Marshall, who lifted them from 84-7 to 141 all out, whilst Steven Honeyman took 5-43 for the hosts. An unbeaten 42 from Daniel Ogden steered Bretton to a four-wicket win in reply, despite a three-wicket burst from Andrew Decent at the start of the innings. Hallam 2nds in fourth place put some distance between themselves and Sheffield United when they posted 243-8 after being put in to bat at Bawtry Road. William Coates (57) and keeper Jack Snelling (37) were in the runs for the visitors, whilst Ibrahim Shakil took 4-53 for the hosts. In United’s reply, James Chetwood took 3-47 and Alex Coates 3-49, and they were all out for 154. Oughtibridge War Memorial 2nds moved up to fifth place after beating Treeton 2nds at Washfield Lane. Adal Nasim took 8-23 to bowl the hosts out for 143 after they were put in to bat, then Lewis Wake (48) and Darryl Williams (54*) took Oughtibridge to a six-wicket win in the 38th over. The game between Thorpe Hesley & High Green and Wath was cancelled. 
 
A sixth consecutive win for Division 3 leaders Norton Woodseats keeps them clear of the field in Division 3. They beat the overnight second-placed side, Cawthorne 2nds, after putting them in to bat and restricting them to 131-8 in 35 overs at Matthews Lane. David Armitage and Shahzad Hussain took three wickets each for the hosts, whilst thirties from Liam Carroll and Afzal Ahmed give the visitors something to bowl at after being 82-7. Hussain then made 50 for Woodseats as they passed their target with six wickets and an over to spare. A big win for Sheffield Collegiate 3rds away to Worsbrough Bridge moves them up into second place. Openers Daniel Craig (40) and skipper Adrian Meadows (98) gave them a sound start after they were put in to bat, then Rubaiyat Abrar hit 100 off 84 balls to take them to 274-4. Opener Zarmash Tarakhil made 53 when the hosts replied, but he received little support and they were all out for 115, Shafiullah Shinwari taking 4-38. Higham are in third place after a narrow win over Millhouses Works at Royd Lane. The visitors made 181-7 in 40 overs after being asked to bat first, Tom Roper (38) and Kieren O’Sullivan (60) putting on 82 for the first wicket, but George Deegan took 5-53 as wickets tumbled thereafter. Deegan made 38 when the hosts replied, but John O’Sullivan took 4-48 and Eddie Raper 3-25, and Higham were grateful for Kyle Clayton’s decisive 56 from 37 balls in the middle order and they won by one wicket off the last ball. Thorncliffe & Wentworth, yet another side asked to bat first, were 54-7 until James Brown (33*) led lower order resistance to get them up to 107-9 in 42 overs, whilst Shahrukh Khan took 3-13 in 11 overs for hosts Caribbean Sports. Brown (7-23) and Michael Gilmour (3-32) then bowled Caribbean out for 60 in reply. Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rds’ skipper Callum Bentley top-scored with 47 after he chose to bat first against Bradfield Village Fellowship at Woolley. Elliot Hallam (3-27) and Noah Jackson (3-31) did much of the damage as the hosts were all out for 90. Will Higson (34) and Jackson (33) then put on 66 for the second wicket as the visitors passed their target for the loss of five wickets in the 24th over. Dan Morley’s unbeaten 49 enabled Norton Oakes to reach 155-4 in 40 overs after being put in to bat by Kexborough at Bence Lane. Opener Ulaganathan Sayanthan then made 67 to give the hosts the platform for their four-wicket win in the last over, whilst Callum East and Daniel Baldwin took three wickets each for the visitors. 
 
Division 4 leaders Rockingham Colliery 2nds had their lead trimmed to ten points after their defeat at home to Wombwell Main. Tom Peck and Chris Ferris both made 30 as the visitors reached 153-8 in 40 overs, Alan Lockwood taking 3-26 for the hosts. Peck then took 5-29 and Adam Carnall 3-8 as Rockingham were all out for 101 in reply. Second-placed Stocksbridge enjoyed a big win over Silkstone United after they were put in to bat at Barnsley Road and reached 231-7. Keeper Andrew Hirst (75) and Jack Murfin (48) put on 86 for the visitors’ fourth wicket, whilst Finlay Allen took 3-44 for the hosts. Joseph Atkinson made 41 at the top of the order in the Silkstone reply, but James Tevendale (5-22) and Callum Haywood (4-26) combined to bowl them out for 87. Frecheville Community enjoyed a comfortable win over Upper Haugh 2nds at the Hobson Bowl, and are just 12 points behind the leaders. David Ratcliffe (86*) and Mat Dexter (41*) put together a match-winning ninth-wicket stand of 91, that took the hosts from 109-8 to 200-8, whilst Christopher Pearson took 3-18 for the visitors. The visitors slipped to 52-7 in reply against Neil Ramsden (4-31) and Todd Saxelby (3-37) but Muhammad Ibrahim Khan’s unbeaten 69 off 49 balls took them to 147 all out. Toby Humphries (35) and skipper James Doran put on 73 for Conisbrough 2nds’ first wicket against Doncaster Town 3rds at Hill House, Alfie Gudgin taking 3-24 as the visitors reached 169-8. In the hosts’ reply, Archie Pierson (50) and Oscar Jones (46*) took them to a two-wicket win off the last ball., Kripal Singh taking 5-41 for Conisbough. Rehan Ahmed (3-17) and Lawrie Brennan (3-14) restricted Sprotbrough 2nds to 113-9 after Sheffield Collegiate 4ths put them in to bat at Abbeydale. But that total was more than enough as Robert Ibbotson (4-17), helped by three wickets each from Nick Graves and Matt Webb, bowled the hosts out for 70 in reply. Hallam 4ths were bowled out for 156 by Shiregreen 2nds at Hatfield House Lane, and the hosts completed a four-wicket win with ten overs to spare. 
 
Barnby Dun maintained their lead at the top of Division 5 after a resounding win over Wickersley Old Village 3rds at Glass Park. Skipper Alex Pepper, with an unbeaten 175 off 109 balls (23 fours and 8 sixes) and keeper Niall McCarthy (52*) put on an unbroken sixth wicket partnership of 203 to take the hosts to 316-5. Eight bowlers then shared the wickets as the visitors crumbled to 69 all out in reply. Siddharth Patwardhan took 8-21 to bowl Whiston Parish Church 2nds out for 48 after they were put in to bat by second-placed Sheffield University Staff at Warminster Road. The hosts then completed an eight-wicket win in the 12th over. Ackworth 2nds lost ground in third place after losing at home to Fishlake. Josh Yeaman (89) helped the visitors to 166-5 after being put in to bat, then Frederick Stevens took 9-35, the best bowling performance in the league so far this season, as the hosts were bowled out for 84. Shadab Ahmed (6-19) helped Rotherham Town 2nds to bowl Maltby Miners Welfare out for 112 after putting them in to bat at Clifton Lane. But Peter Brewster (4-15) and Liam Woodward (3-19) then helped bowl the hosts out for 104 in reply. Keeper Steve Cowles, with an unbeaten 97, was chiefly responsible for Whiston Forge’s 172-9 against Handsworth Junior SC at Guilthwaite Hill, whilst there were three wickets each for Majad Hussain, Monir Choudhury and Hamza Hussain. Saiful Alam Nury (54) and Omer Muhammad Arshad (66*) then put on 85 for the visitors’ third wicket to lead them to a five-wicket win in the 36th over. Opener Richard Mintoft (67) and Ben Vandrill (133 off 116 balls with 13 fours and 7 sixes) put on 155 for Coal Aston 2nds’ third wicket against Darfield 2nds at School Lane, and the visitors posted 257-4 after being put in to bat. Richard Timms (4-26) and Vandrill (3-16) then helped bowl out the hosts for 100 in reply. Sunday’s game between Handsworth Junior SC and Whiston Forge was abandoned after tea, Forge having been bowled out for 210, with opener Josh Cooke (43), Kristian Lee Green (45) and keeper John Wagstaff (43) all in the runs; Majad Hussain (4-58) and Waqas Rashid (4-46) were the most successful bowlers for Handsworth. 
 
Hatfield Town 2nds consolidated second place in Division 6 by beating Higham 2nds at Carr Side Lane. Skipper Andy Cutts made 51 for the hosts as they posted 148-7 after being put in to bat, and then James Nolan took 5-20 and Shehzad Hussain 3-25 as the visitors were bowled out for 109. Thorpe Hesley & High Green 2nds restricted Bradfield Village Fellowship to 100-6 after putting them in to bat at the Sands, skipper Craig Shepherd top-scoring with 31. Opener John Ashton then made an unbeaten 81 as Thorpe Hesley powered to an eight-wicket win in the 21st over. Mexborough Athletic’s Jonathan Guest (5-25) and Matthew Russell (3-29) bowled Millhouses Works 2nds out for 86 at Millhouses Park. The hosts then cantered to a six-wicket win in the 28th over in reply. On Sunday, leaders Warmsworth 2nds regained their eight-point advantage at the top of the division by beating Penistone 2nds at Common Lane. Marcus Green took 3-16 as Penistone were restricted to 76-8 after being put in to bat, then Green (31) top-scored as the hosts registered a seven-wicket win in 21 overs. Whitley Hall 3rds bowled Caribbean Sports 2nds out for 116 at Baxter Field before the rain forced an abandonment. Shabaz Qadeer scored 37 for the visitors whilst Charlie Wragg (4-21) and Joe Webster (3-27) did most of the damage for the hosts. 
 
Green Moor kept up the pace at the top of Division 7 with a win over their nearest rivals Brookhouse at Rose Lane, and they now lead the table by 17 points. Three wickets each for Harry Airstone, Joe White and Jake Sharp saw the hosts dismissed for 60, and then Green Moor proceeded to a seven-wicket win in the 14th over. Upper Haugh 3rds moved up to third after beating Barnsley Woolley Miners 4ths at Hooton Pagnell. Isaac Wilkes took 7-17 after the hosts were put in to bat, and they were all out for 92. Then when the visitors replied, Muraad Ghani took 4-12 and they were all out for 48. Fourth-placed Scholes & Harley were put in to bat by Stocksbridge 2nds at Bracken Moor and made 148-9, Lewis Varley top-scoring with 36, whilst Jenson Beever and Paul Hargreaves took three wickets each. Craig Moffat (6-11) and Jamie Oliver (3-17) then bowled the hosts out for 40 in reply. Tom Bassindale made 56 out of Norton Oakes 184-9 after they were put in to bat by Sprotbrough 3rds at Oakes Park. In the visitors’ reply, Dan Clarke made 66 off 51 balls, but no-one else reached double figures and they were all out for 123, Carl Fairhurst returning 3-40. Christopher Jeeves (10-7-5-5) and Chris Lovejoy (3-4) took the bowling honours for Adwick-le-Street, who bowled Eden Grove Parklands out for 55 after asking them to bat first at Parklands. Adwick then eased to a nine-wicket win in the 15th over. Lars Slee-Karim took 5-26 for Doncaster Town 4ths after they asked Houghton Main 2nds to bat first and bowled them out for 85 at Middlecliffe Lane. Samad Masood (3-28) and Adil Muhammad (3-15) then bowled Houghton to a five-run win. 
 
Division 8 leaders Parkhead 2nds had a very short game at home to Worsbrough Bridge 2nds. Marcus Ardley took 5-11 to help the hosts bowl Worsbrough out for 32 in 9.2 overs after they were put in to bat, then his side romped to a ten-wicket in in the sixth over. Rockingham Colliery 3rds made 147-5 after being asked to bat first by Monk Bretton 2nds at Stainborough, opener Adam Sattaur making 51 and skipper Reece Woodhead an unbeaten 56. Noah Shore took 4-22 when the visitors replied, and they were all out for 75. An efficient all-round performance saw Hallam 4ths put Frecheville Community 2nds in to bat, bowl them out for 45, then knock off the required runs for the loss of one wicket in the 11th over. Matty Woods (72*) and Neil Hinchliffe (31) put on 84 for Kexborough 2nds’ fourth wicket in their 147-8 after being put in to bat by Elsecar 3rds at Lound Side. Hinchliffe then took 3-2 as the visitors were all out for 59 in reply. Opener Gareth Hughes hit an unbeaten 64 for Mexborough Athletic 2nds in their 155-8 after being put in to bat at home to Norton Woodseats 2nds; David Thorpe taking 3-18 for the visitors. Opener Jhangir Ahmed (61*) then saw his team to a four-wicket win with the help of Fahim Mirzayee (38), whilst Jonny Bradley took 3-19 for the hosts. Andrew Millington (64) and keeper James Pearson (72) put on 115 for Wombwell Main 2nds’ third wicket at home to Barnby Dun 2nds, and their team posted 210 all out, with James Copley taking 6-42. In reply, Zully Shah (63), Dale Lattimore (47) and Copley (57) saw their team to a two-wicket win with two balls to spare, Billy Smith taking 3-49 in vain. On Sunday, Rockingham drew level at the top of the table by beating Elsecar at Stainborough. Simon Grindle (7-3-7-5) and James Peet (3-13) were instrumental in bowling the visitors out for 49, but Rockingham then lost four wickets in getting the 50 runs they needed to win. 
 
Wath 3rds moved up into second place in Division 9 with a 52-run win over Fishlake 2nds at Pinfold Lane. Isaac Wainwright made an unbeaten 78 for the visitors after they were put in to bat and posted 155-3. Ollie Burrows (3-18) and Joe Wainwright (3-13) were then amongst the wickets as the hosts were restricted to 103-9 in reply. Opener Keigan Vickerage hit an unbeaten 46 for Eden Grove Parkland 2nds after they were put in to bat at Dearne and reached 125-5, Marley Wood taking 4-16 for the hosts. Stuart Stubbins then took 4-7 as Dearne were all out for 40 in reply. Lee Moxon (45) and Chris Williams (54*) helped Scholes & Harley 2nds to 156-6 when they were asked to bat first by Whiston Forge 2nds at Scholes. David Foote (81) anchored the visitors’ reply and helped them win by four wickets off the last ball of their 40 overs, Matthew Holmes taking 4-26 for the hosts. Brookhouse 2nds conceded their game against leaders Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds. 
 
Cup & T20 ties 
 
In the K3 Dental Cup, Wakefield Thornes prevailed in a 30-over game against Whitley Hall at Field Lane. Put in to bat, Thornes made 222-7, keeper Joe Billings top-scoring with 56, whilst Sijomon Joseph added impetus near the end with an unbeaten 40 off 19 balls. The visitors looked out of it at 101-6 in reply, but skipper James Brown hit 51 off 30 balls to raise hopes before becoming Matty Taylor’s third victim on his way to 5-45, and Whitley were all out for 186. 
 
In the T20 Blast semi-finals, Sheffield Collegiate won through to the final by beating Tickhill at Abbeydale. Ross Diver made 37 for Tickhill after they chose to bat first, Mat Roberts taking 3-29 as they were restricted to 130-7. Keeper Sam Hunt then made 37 off 23 balls at the top of the order in Collegiate’s reply, and an unbeaten 37 from Roberts then took them to a five-wicket win with ten balls to spare. In a 10-over game on Monday evening, an unbeaten 76 off 38 balls from James Rhodes at the top of the order, in which he had an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 74 with Jawad Akhtar, took Wakefield Thornes to 133-3 against Doncaster Town at Field Lane. The visitors were behind the run rate on 78-4 when Charlie Kaye came in to hit an unbeaten 45 off 13 balls, with a four and 6 sixes, to take Town into the final by six wickets with one ball to spare. 
 
In the Whitworth Cup semi-finals, Whiston Parish Church made 173-9 against Sprotbrough at Melton Roads, Arman Jaffer (42) and Sam Bowden (43) leading the way, and Sprotbrough were 60-3 off 12 overs when rain forced an abandonment. Whiston were then declared winners by 27 runs against a DLS target of 88 in 12 overs. In the other semi, Aston Hall were all out for 207 against Wickersley Old Village at Green Lane. Tanveer Singh (87) and Nazakat Khan (48) added 84 for the third wicket, whilst skipper Iftikhar Afzal took 5-34 for the visitors. The game was then abandoned due to rain, and will be replayed next Sunday.
