The YCSPL sends its warmest congratulations to Sheffield Collegiate's Richard Kettleborough on becoming England's most-capped test umpire. The current game betweeen Australia and West Indies is his 93rd test, putting him one ahead of former mentor David Shepherd, and he is now sixth in the all-time test umpires' list. 
 
Kettleborough made his international debut as an umpire in a T20 international between England and Australia 2009 and was promoted to the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires just two years later in 2011.  
 
He still turns out at Abbeydale, often playing alongside his son, Jack, when his umpiring commitments allow, and his playing careear included spells at Yorkshire and Middlesex, and in the Yorkshire League with Castleford and Sheffield Collegiate. 
 
League chairman Roger Pugh says, 'I know how much this milestone means to Richard and I am really pleased for him. The dedication required - not to mention application and concentration, to perform consistently at this level, under relentless scrutiny, often in the hottest of climes and is very noisy stadia - cannot be understated. It is a very special achievement.'
