Cancellations and changes of venue - for action 
 
Clubs are reminded that if a game is cancelled for any reason, or the venue changed, they must advise the visitors, the Head of Senior Section, and the umpires' appointments officer as soon as possible.  
 
Cup update – for information 
 
Our congratulations go to Cleethorpes and Ackworth, the winners of our T20 Blast and T20 plate trophies respectively, and we wish them the very best of luck going forward to represent our league in the national Vitality T20 competitions. 
 
The Whitworth Cup semi-finals are Shiregreen v Elsecar (26 July) and Doncaster Town 2nds v Barnsley Woolley Miners (2 August). 
 
The President’s Trophy semi-finals, to be played on Sunday 9 August, are Sheffield Centralians v Stocksbridge and Waverley v Sheffield Caribbean. 
 
This Sunday, Cawthorne play Driffield in the semi-finals of the K3 Dental Cup; Shiregreen play Elsecar in the first semi-final of the Whitworth Cup; and there are four quarter-finals in the Billy Oates Memorial Cup. All games start at-12.30. 
 
Girls’ festivals – reminder 
 
As we near the summer holidays, the Roses festivals will soon to be upon us. There are three more festivals taking place across South Yorkshire over July and August. The dates and venues are shown below. To sign up to your desired festivals please enter your teams via these links – note that it is necessary for each individual entrant to fill in the form:

League trophies – for action 
 
As we will soon be hosting the finals of the 2026 competitions, may we ask that the four League cup trophies are now returned to Linzey Scothern as soon as possible. Please contact Linzey to make arrangements. 
 
Pre-match meeting – for action 
 
Clubs are reminded that team cards, match balls and spare balls should be given to the umpires at, not after, the pre-match meeting. 
 
Play Cricket transfer deadline – reminder 
 
All player transfers for the 2026 season must be completed by midnight on 31 July 2026. 
 
Recording of play at games – for action 
 
Clubs are asked to remind players that the recording of play by individuals is not permitted at games – the only recording allowable is where permission has been granted to the home club for live-streamimg. 
 
Scam emails – reminder 
 
As we continue to receive reports about scam emails that purport to emanate from league and club officials, Play-Cricket, etc, it is timely to remind everyone of the guidance on the subject that we posted on our website last year.

'Your Say' playing survey now open – for action 
 
We encourage players and volunteers who make the game happen to take the opportunity of having their say in the 2026 ECB ‘Your Say’ survey. The survey takes around ten minutes to complete and closes on Sunday 16th August. It is broken into ten modules, which will appear based on the information you give in the ‘About You’ section. Other modules include Playing experience, Volunteering experience, EDI, Women's & Girls' cricket, Cricket Regulator, Recreational Digital Systems. 
 
To encourage completion, there are three prizes available as incentives for those that complete the survey. All respondents will automatically go into the prize draw to win £100 Love2Shop vouchers. To complete the survey click here
 
YCSPL under 23s v MCC – for information 
 
Our League under 23s side will be playing their annual game against an MCC XI at Treeton CC this coming Thursday, 30 July (11am start). All spectators will be welcome.
