Clubs' bulletin no 8 of 2025 - 6 June 

5th and 6th teams – for information 
 
Thank you to all those who responded to our request for your club’s view on whether the ‘four teams only’ clause in our constitution should be removed. The response was 26-1 in favour. Matt Summerhill will now finalise the 2026 divisional plan and we will circulate as soon as possible. We will take into account in future planning a number of comments received. The change to the constitution will be put forward for ratification at the AGM in November. 
 
Alan Farnell – for information 
 
The funeral of our recently-departed Life Member, Alan Farnell, are that it will take place at 13.00 on Thursday 26 June at Our Lady & St Thomas RC Church, The Presbytery, 34, Meadowhead, Woodseats, Sheffield S8 7UD, and then at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium, Hutcliffe Wood Road, Sheffield, S8 0HP.

Cup & T20 trophies - action required 
 
In advance of the League Cup and T20 finals days, we now ask for all the Cup and T20 trophies to be returned to M.S. Sports, 163a, Masbrough Street, Rotherham S60 1HW, by the end of June please. 
 
Cup draws – for information 
 
Please see the revised cup draw schedule, which updates and corrects previous ones. Please ignore other versions. We apologise for the recent confusion, and will take steps to ensure this does not happen in the future. 
 
Division 6 fixtures for 21 June - for information 
 
The fixtures published in the handbook for Division 6 on 21 June were incorrect. The correct fixtures are shown on our website, Play-Cricket and in our online handbook. Again, our apologies for any confusion caused. 
 
MACC Academy Scholarship Scheme 2025 – for information 
 
Applications for the second year of the MACC Academy Scholarship Scheme are now open. This is a fully-funded scholarship scheme is aimed at supporting talented young cricketers from all backgrounds. Last year, 21 players out of 32 participants were selected for a Regional County Programme. 
 
It is open to boys and girls in the North of England aged 11-17, who exhibit cricketing talent and a strong desire to pursue the sport professionally. Visit www.themaccacademy.com/scholarship and fill out the scholarship application form. The application deadline is 14 September 2025, with trials in the following week.

Test match net bowlers - action required 
 
Yorkshire CCC are looking for some net bowlers for the England and India international sides, for practice in advance of the forthcoming test match at Headingley. They currently have a mix of top-end Academy/U18, 2nd XI and Leeds/Bradford UCCE bowlers lined up, and need some more. They would like to offer the opportunity to a small number of the best young bowlers in the Premier Leagues. No specific bowler type requested - just a variety at a good standard. The schedule for sessions to be covered is: 
 
• Tuesday 17 June – England 0930 – 1230 
• Wednesday 18 June – India 0930 – 1230; England 1330 – 1630 
• Thursday 19 June – England 0930 – 1230; India 1330 – 1630

Under 21s representative side – reminder 
 
The YCSPL under 21s side will play Yorkshire CCC under 18s at Tickhill CC next Wednesday, 11 June, 18.00 start. All welcome!
