Clubs' bulletin no 7 of 2024 - 30 May
Changing start times. Clubs who wish to put back a start time of any YCSPL game to accommodate a women’s & girls or junior game must notify the Head of the Senior Section, the opposition, and the match umpires.
Cup ties where no result is possible on the day. Clubs are reminded that in all YCSPL cup competitions (except the K3 Dental) where no result is possible on the scheduled date, in all rounds up to and including the quarter-finals, games cannot be arranged. A result must be obtained by a bowl-out or coin toss on the day (Cup & T20 competitions rule 6.iii).
Doncaster CCC – Hill House School ground. Visiting teams in Divisions 4 and 7 need to be aware that there are no shower facilities available at the ground.
Handbook correction. The email address for the Rockingham CCC secretary is rockinghamccc.secretary@gmail.com, ie, with a dot after ccc not underscore.
Playing condition 12 – cancellations. The time by which a club should contact the opposition when they believe that no play will be possible, has been amended to three hours for all divisions (ie, including Senior Section, which was previously four) as follows:
If, having taken all possible action to prepare and protect the pitch and surrounding areas, and taking into account the ground conditions and weather forecast, the home club believes that the prospect of play is remote, they should make verbal contact with the visitors (it is not acceptable to just leave or send a message), no less than three hours before the scheduled start time.
Safeguarding issues
• Juniors should not be used as on-field umpires, even at the striker’s end (square leg/point).
• Where there are no league umpires, clubs must retain team cards for three years in case of any safeguarding issues arising.
Scoring - important update. There will be a further update to Play-Cricket Scorer Pro (laptop software) overnight on Friday 31 May/Saturday 1 June. If your scorer uses a laptop to score, please ensure they allow enough time to update the software on the laptop on the morning of your game on Saturday 1 June. They will not be able to use the software until this is done. If you need any clarification on this please contact Steve Ward on 07919 241148.
