Clubs' bulletin no 15 of 2024 - 7 December 

 

A reminder that the provisional 2025 fixtures include a schedule of the fixtures that need to be rearranged between clubs because of ground availability issues. 

 

Fixtures should be rearranged to be played within a reasonable time frame of the originally scheduled fixture, ideally within a period of three weeks before or three weeks after. The home club should agree a date with the away club and confirm this in an email to competitions.manager@ycspl.co.uk no later than midday on Tuesday 24 December 2024 but preferably well before then. Any fixture remaining outstanding at this point, will be arranged by the League with a fixed date which will not be allowed to be changed. 

 

 

The notes of the 2024 AGM have now been published on the League website. 

 

 

Our Safeguarding Manager, Lindsay Pepper, was presented with the Safe Hands award at the recent YCB Cricket Collective awards night. YCB said, ‘Lindsay has shown an exceptional standard of Safeguarding within the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League and the Barnsley Junior League; her vigilance and dedication have been incredible in ensuring that South Yorkshire is a safe and inclusive space for all players to immerse themselves in cricket.’

The YCB is looking to recruit two new County Pitch Advisors to support and develop volunteer grounds managers within the recreational game, providing relevant technical advice to drive up playing facility standards across the county. Full details of the positions and how to apply are published on our website. 

 

 

The 2025 YCSPL cup draws are now updated on the League website with the T20 group stage venues. The YCSPL Sunday fixture schedule is also published on the website. 

 

 

The cup final venues for 2025 have been decided as follows: 

 

• Whitworth Cup - Aston Hall CC 

• Mick Savage Trophy – Darfield CC 

• President’s Cup – Treeton CC 

• Billy Oates Memorial Cup – Green Moor CC 

• T20 finals day – Wakefield Thornes CC

YCB is encouraging club chairs to do the welfare courses and as such they can do them for free. 

 

 

There is a programme of introductory courses for umpires who have not been on an umpiring course. Experienced umpires should not book these sessions.

The Summer 2024 player survey has been sent to all participating Clubs to gather feedback that will inform the W&Gs game going forward. If you haven't received this survey link please contact League Chair, Liz Harris, by email. The deadline for completion is Friday 20 December 2024. 

 

An email about registration for participation in the league in Summer 2025 has been sent to all clubs involved previously. If your club would like to be included, but you have not received the email please contact our Fixtures Lead, Brain Hepworth, by email. The deadline for registrations is 24 December 2024.
