Clubs' bulletin no 10 of 2024- 22 August
David Ward
Our chairman, David Ward, has announced this week that he will be stepping down from his roles as League chairman and Head of Senior Section at the AGM in November. Many of you will know that David’s wife Liz is currently undergoing a course of treatment for an illness. Having prioritised cricket for so long, David now wants to give more of his time to support Liz and his family.
Having put a monumental amount of time and effort into South Yorkshire cricket over the last twenty years, he will be very much missed. David will, however, retain his role as the ECB ACO and YPL Appointments Officer.
We hope to welcome him back at some stage in the future, and, in the meantime, we thank him for all he has done, and wish Liz, David and the family the very best for the future.

Ray Bee
It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Ray Bee of Fishlake CC on 13 August, aged 83.
Ray was part of the fabric of Fishlake for over 50 years, as a player, umpire, secretary, chairman and trustee, in addition to his many other roles. He umpired on behalf of Fishlake initially in the Pontefract League, but moved across to South Yorkshire League until Covid. Most of all, Ray was a friend to everyone who knew him. Ray’s family have been, and continue to be, involved with the day to day running of the club.
We pass on our condolences to the family and all his friends at Fishlake at this sad time.
